I looked over episodes and special features from each disc and everything looks pretty good. My hope for Season 7 is that they film using cameras that handle low lighting conditions better. There is so much video noise during low lighting conditions during Series 6.

Have the corrected discs been included in recent box sets yet? Is there any way to check before you buy the set?

Yeah. Considering this has been on sale for almost two weeks, don't be surprised if the price goes back up on Sunday though. Last edited by hardtosayx; 12-07-2012 at 09:18 PM. |

Walked into Best Buy this morning and they had the set as part of a "Great TV Deals" display on the side for $19.99, no need to price match. I did get the last copy, however, and I expect that many stores will be out of stock; that price is just too good to pass up.

Hi everyone. I recently picked up a copy of Series 6 (Blu-ray) at Best Buy, and I want to check if the discs in the set are the corrected discs or the old (faulty) discs. Does anyone have the corrected discs, who'd be willing to post the disc code for comparison?
On disc 1 (the "Christmas Carol" special disc), the codes I see on the back of the disc are: OUTER ring: (473103) 7000047880 1 01E 03001 INNER ring: (473104) 7000047880 1 01E 02001 ******** On disc 3 (the disc with the problematic "Rebel Flesh" and "Almost People"), the codes are: OUTER ring: (473107) 7000047882 1 01E 03001 INNER ring: ((473108) 700007882 1 01E 04001 ******** Can anyone confirm if these are the corrected discs or the faulty ones? |

So a quick update for others wondering if the newer sets include the corrected discs or the faulty ones:
I bought the series 6 blu-ray at Best Buy a week ago, and checked the Time and Space shorts, as well as the Rebel Flesh (at 30:31) on my laptop, and the grainy lower half is still evident if I crank up the screen brightness. Not really enough to be a terrible distraction, but it's still there. So either Best Buy is still selling old stock from the defective batches, or BBC is still printing defective discs in their newer batches. Again, can anyone with the corrected discs post the disc code for comparison? |

Here's the numbers on my corrected disc 1:
1675752 D35E C0C6 C8D9 PA01 1675752 D35E C0C6 C8D9 PB01 Both sets of numbers were on the outer ring. I had no numbers on the inner ring. I think everyone should mail theirs away for the exchange. It's really quite fast and they reimburse your shipping cost with an amazon gift card code. You only send back the discs, no packaging. |
