thats what was done with the most recent dvd release of TC and SA

which i wont mind one bit
I think it is fair to say that Walt Disney's most obscure animated feature release is 1955's Music Land, which combined sequences from Make Mine Music and Melody Time. This version is so forgotten, so obscure, that it doesn't even appear on imdb or wikipedia - but go check e*bay (the theatrical poster is running at a cool $600 right now) and go read Maltin's concluding note in his review of Melody Time in his invaluable book, The Disney Films. It exists. So little is on-line about this version, I don't know what framing device was used for the material, but it would be interesting to see some day.

In other words, I wouldn't mind Make Mine Music and Melody Time appearing as a two-fer on the Blu-Ray release. Especially if it includes the Music Land version (easily accomplished, I would imagine, via seamless branching).

For the record, from what I can tell from Maltin and the release poster, Music Land had nine sequences -- All the Cats Join In, After You've Gone, Casey at the Bat, Johnny Fedora and Alice Bluebonnet, Once Upon a Wintertime, Bumble Boogie, Trees, Blame it on the Samba, and Pecos Bill

I don't want to buy them on Blu. Only the original Cinderella form me
Bart, I agree with you to a point. I found them 'watchable.' Not much replay value in them for me. But I feel the same as TLK 2 and TLK 1 1/2. But when they get individual releases, I will get them to complete the collection. But Cinderella is another story. Love that movie as I do most of the true classic Disney animation films. So it would just be too cool for me to have a Pumpkin stagecoach BD holder like they did with the Lion King drum. If they did that type of casing, then I would buy the trilogy boxset day 1. Hope that makes a little more sense now.

Not sure if you're referring to the poll I made back in January but in that poll it and the Lion King were clear leaders, I think at least 70% of voters wanted them.

Shall start another updated one this January now that Dumbo, Bambi, Fox and the Hound, Alice in Wonderland and Lion King have been released and Lady, Cinderella and Pocahontas have been confirmed.

Yes It does
I can understand that a Pumpkin holder would be awesome !

For the Lion King it's the same for me. I have LK 1 1/2 & 2 on dvd, but I don't feel the urge to own them on Blu. I stick with the Lion King movie alone.

How dare I forget this movie! IMO, this was the last PERFECT animated Disney film. Lilo & Stitch, Bolt and Tangled are good but not perfect by any means.

I think New Groove has the most laughs out of any of the Disney films too.

Yeah, maybe Disney doesn't want to be associated with this movie anymore, with all its dark and erotic tones, an animated movie like that definitely wouldn't have green lit this days by them. It's really a shame, cause it looks horrible on the current DVD edition, and it'll look awesome on blu with all those semi-3D scenes with Quasimodo swinging over a huge crowd to save Esmeralda from the fire, the Topsy Turvy festival and the beautiful Parisian vistas.

Hunchback started out as a quality film, but like Pocahontas, became a collection of Eisner/Katzenberg studio ideas that self-destructed:
- The idea for "Stage-ready stories" gave us a claustrophobic musical that barely looked animated, and took place on three different sets, and gave the audience the insulting feeling we were going to get a big expensive NYC stage musical whether we'd asked for one or not,
- The idea for "Great novels with human characters (to convert into stage shows)" gave us a largely dark, intellectual plot that had to be watered down for family marketability, which only caused the book purists at the other end to complain,
- The idea to keep one foot in name-shtick family marketing meant we had to have Comedy-Relief Characters, giving us the Gargoyles that had no apparent function in the story.

Disney seemed to have made everything BUT an actual movie, and the audience wasn't there. To them, that's a mistake, and they don't like to relive mistakes.
Unfortunately, they still consider Pocahontas (and its last-minute attempt to turn the story into a Disney America PSA for Virginia natives) and the Eisner-arrogant Hercules as "mistakes", too--But since they don't want to blame themselves, they just blame it on the audience, and think we "hated" them for ten years just because we wanted to.

Maybe someone can find a long forgotten documentary about Walt visiting Saudi Arabia. Then we can get an unaltered version of Aladdin buried in the extras.

Ever see Blue Men of Morocco? Not Saudi Arabia, but...fits your long forgotten documentary parameter (Walt's not in it, he produced it).

I've seen parts of it. It was quite good. Actually though, I was just implying that I'd rather have an ear chopped off than intense heat.

Why are they waiting so long for 101 Dalmatians? That movie has been in the vault for the longest time.

Arrow Even I don't know what the point of this post is...

A little over two months ago, an idea came to me. An idea of staying ahead of the Disney Vault, right?
Yeah... So, for the past two or so months, I've been on a Disney animated movies marathon! (Meaning watching pretty much every Disney animated feature that I have and haven't seen before. But excluding ones I remembered not liking. (This was also to remind myself of which are my top favorites.) It's been really excellent, naturally. It's been like seeing them for the first time again; since I haven't watched 'em since I was a kid.

Now, I reckon, I have about 9 more to watch (Hercules' disc arrived broken; so that's on a 'Very Long Wait' waiting replacement list. Likewise for The Little Mermaid, which I've yet to rent because of the 'Very Long Wait' waiting list!)
[Show spoiler]
The other 7, if you're curious, are: The Rescuers, The Rescuers Down Under, Dinosaur, The Emperor's New Groove, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Treasure Planet, and Meet the Robinsons. I've seen about 5 of those. After my Disneymania is over, I'll have my list of my favorite Disney animated movies. Currently, I have 17 favorites! Eleven of which are part of the Vault's selected circulation of movies. And I own only 3 of them, so far! No... Three! I only wish I had 6! But eventually, when the exciting day comes to be, when I own all my favorites on Blu-ray: I will be a very, very happy lad, indeed!

And knowing my final favorite feature's release date, that will complete my collection, my reaction will be:

Hopefully, with this planned idea; I will be have the money, clearly. And that I'd be blessed to find a case with its attached slipcover. So, that's pretty much it!

Until next time...

Oh! And here's a cupcake for reading this.
