Don't think there has been 1 posted of the HMV steel, at least not in this specific version of the thread. Just checked HMVs Twitter and couldn't find anything

I swear that there was a picture posted!

If there weren't, would I have bothered to reply in the manner that I did on page 2 of this thread? Honestly, what kind of sense would that have made?

I'm not saying you didn't see it but i've checked both Facebook and Twitter as well as done a Bing search image for it. Came back with nothing. Could be the cover you saw was for something Avengers but maybe not the UK steelbook or you got mixed up. Then again, could be that they did pull it cause that's not final artwork at all.

I've been gettin a gut feeling about this UK steelbook, maybe it's not a bad gut feeling, but that we actually might get something decent from Disney for their flagship movie of the year.

Like I said it might not have been in this version of the thread, since I made it after the Server Crash nothing has been deleted except for a spam post by an account that had been un banned thanks to the database loss :/

Perhaps.

I know there is a picture of it, floating around on the interwebz somewhere. I have a very strong feeling about it.

I've just asked HMV on their Facebook wall. Normally, they reply to questions. I'll let you know if anything turns up.

I'm gonna have another search and just to let you guys know, the HMV code has now expired so your having to pay full £15.99 or whatever it is in your currency.

I'm really hoping this steelbook comes good in the end. If they did post the pic that you say is horrible and then pulled it, must mean that's not the final design or something.

Excellent

One thing thats bugging me is that the 6 disc set is called Marvel's The Avengers... So why was the movie title changed to Avengers Assemble?

I always thought it was to do with some sort of issue with the old Avengers TV show. Obviously not if the 6 disc set has the movies title! Whats up with that?

There are 6 Avengers movies in this set. The title Marvel's Avengers refers to the whole series.
Avengers Assemble is still the title they are giving it for this release.

Iron Man
The Incredible Hulk
Iron Man 2
Thor
Captain America
Avengers Assemble

I know that, but why wasnt it called The Avengers in the first place, if there was no legal reason for them to change it, what was the point

There was a picture in the old thread, it was the same as the US Viva metal case with the 'A' on the front and a spine with just pictures of the cast (presumably so the Avengers Assemble title wasn't printed on the side).

It was clearly a mock-up though, and as much as I don't like the title, the cluttered mess of a spine that was offered is far worse.

Maybe it should have a clean front and back (the title Avengers Assemble printed on a card like the recent Play steelbook exclusives) and a spare spine which you can stick on with the US title. I know, it'll never happen.

On a sidenote, I did manage to swap the spine (and front and back) of my Iron Man 2 steelbook with Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance so that IM2 could be a 3 disc case so I could put the DVD in with the 2 Blu-rays. Hopefully GR: SoV is only a 2 disc release.

I'd be surprised if it looks much different from the regular version.

Disney have a happy knack of using the same artwork most of the time don't they? I know Warhorse had the same design.

I think this is the picture you're looking for?

I saved it before the forum had a heart attack

As long as it doesn't have printed ratings, or a blue banner at the top I don't really care what it looks like.

Of course, being Disney it'll probably have both those things. Unless the steelbook keeps the Paramount design like the previous Marvel releases.

Awesome!

Thats exactly what I picture iin my mind when I think of the best way this steel could be designed. A little embbosing/debossing too.

No too sure about the spine though, I would rather have that kept exclusively for the title and then have the the avengers themselves as the inside art making use of the poster design.

With you on that one. There's no reasson at all that ratings can't be on the data sheet thats attatched to 90% of all steelbooks these days.

At least from the image it's already looking embossed since the edges seem to dip, clear sign of embossing/bebossing. But I'm trying not to get my hopes up until it's revealed.

Just had it confirmed that it will be a J-card with no printing on the sleeve,no bluray band across the top and there is internal artwork as well.

Will post more artwork as soon as i can.
