Some of you guys should really take a good hard look at what he's saying in that article. I love Blu-ray (getting a PS3 this week) and HD-DVD but some of the people who post on this forum are really some of the most immature acting people I've ever seen post on any forum. It's one thing to love Blu-ray and not like HD-DVD but some of you here take it to the extreme with all the "HD-DUD" talk and flat out mocking HD-DVD with every post. It's just ridiculous and if you look around these forums you will see what I'm talking about and why someone would write an article about you guys. Just my 2 cents....

I agree with this guy when it come down to the we or them part. But as for me, I bought 12 moves this week, count them 12 and i only pay an average of 15 dollars per. Not one of these movies that i pickup was an impulse buy, i could not afford to pay $30 plus per movie, so when i see this offer to me it was a great deal. My son got two movies he have been asking for, my wife got two that she wanted, my father got 3 he wanted, and i pick up the ones that i wanted. This is no different than an HD DVD owners buying a player for 299 and getting 9 movies.

I only see my self buy 10-15 more movies on Blu by year end, but these are movies that i want. Another thing, i've seem many HDDVD owners posting and have 100, 99 82 HdDVD movies in there signature, for the life of me I don't see 20 must have movies on that format, so maybe he should be addressing that, than raining on our parade.

I don't care who win this week HdDVD or Blu ray, Sony or Toshiba, i know for certain though, that I was the winner at the retail stores.

HD DVD is Toshiba ; Blu-ray is not Sony.

That's a fair point, but to pretend that this behavior is one-sided is hypocritical. HD-DVD fanboys are exactly the same and actually worse in that they have to skew facts or lie to make their arguments. As far as the immature behavior, it's the same as trolls on sports forums... every team gets trolled and every team generates trolls. The behavior is pathetic in all cases, but your slanted comment is just as hypocritical as the author's so-called "news".

The article is spot on, single format owners on both sides show a serious cult like attitude and it is quite scary to see adults act in such a way.

Don't really get the Spartacus comment. I doubt I'd get it but it is a classic and a Top 100 of all time; Comparing it to Evan Almighty is unjustified.

Oh I'm sure there's plenty of immaturity on the HD-DVD side as well. It just seems so overwhelming here. And yes I agree it's pathetic in all cases.

This is an immature point of view. The article is only half-right but it is extremely hypocritical by pretending the behavior is confined to 1 side. Your comment says "single format owners" which is a maybe a better way top state the problem, but you are inaccurate in claiming that the article was saying that... the article was a direct attack on blu-ray supporters and not on biased, single-format folks.

You also make a bogus generalization that all single-format owners are cult-like.

The article is spot on, single format owners on both sides show a serious cult like attitude and it is quite scary to see adults act in such a way. And yes the fact that the word "WE" is used when people talk about BLU-RAY or HD-DVD is equally sad.

I take your point and it's a good one, but it is not at all worse on here than somewhere like AVS. Again I'll use a logical basis for my perspective.

1) This is called "Blu-ray.com" and hence makes no claim to neutrality. AVS and several others pose as neutral HD sites but are in no way neutral. To me this is like when people claim that news analysis shows are biased... well, they openly admit that they are left-wing or right-wing people who are giving their opinion. A far greater danger is bias inserted into straight "news".

2) Given that the data generally support the argument that BD is doing better, BD supporters actually utilize data accurately to make their case. Meanwhile HD-DVD supporters often resort to dramatic, inaccurate twisting and distortion to mislead others.

Generalize much?

While there are definitely both on each side that display that behavior, it's not the typical behavior.

In fact, if a blogger has to write about it and use nicknames etc. for the people he's talking about, to me that makes him the biggest "fanboy" of all.

Exactly, his intentions and motives are clear.

As was stated earlier.....this site is a Blu-Ray site. It does not pretend to be neutral. Of course people here are going to support Blu-Ray.

To make a real point, the article should have also mentioned immaturities on both sides, not simply Blu-Ray. To me it smacks of HD-DVD Fanboyism and therefore holds no real credibility.

It should be easier to mind you own business than it is to criticize people. Would you feel the same if we were sport fans? Some are into blu-ray for the variey and volume of titles. Hence, offer BOGO and you get the natural response. Ever experienced Black Friday? Moreover, 'THEY' were in a frenzy over ONE regular priced title. Someone is RED with envy.

Why is Polar Express Blu-Ray listed on Buy.com as 'in stock'? I cannot even find it on Amazon. Is this an error?

I'm glad Jwhip posted the article as there were those that didn't know better and actually thought he was neutral and unbiased. Much better to read a review knowing the mentality a person has towards each format.
