I'm Glad they are finally releasing "They Live" also another movie that I bought around the same time was "The Hidden" I hope that one comes out soon as well.

Oh yeah, but I actually didn't buy an HD television until last year, so it didn't matter before then. I never picked up the Universal dvd because I had a standard def tv, and it had no extras.

Well, that's where you encounter conflict.
Why would a Hollywood studio give a shit about a director who doesn't give a shit about them?
Studios only operate to make money. They very rarely operate to open minds to interesting filmmakers with unique voices, and when they do, they hardly ever give it a decent release.
For now, I'm just glad it's getting a respectable release. Shout Factory appears to be doing these genre classics justice by treating them as a top priority.

I really hope they have some sort of extra about the South Park Timmy Vs Jimmy shot-for-shot parody of the fight scene. Or at least mention it.
