A full screen Blu-ray set just doesn't make any sense. Can someone mention an instance where a widescreen movie has ended up full screen (pan and scan) on Blu-ray? I'm personally not familiar with a single instance so this has me skeptical.
The Blu-rays will be widescreen, the DVDs in the combo packs might turn out to be whatever random ones they had sitting around. If the original DVD releases were full-screen or non-anamorphic widescreen there are decent odds the same old DVDs in this set still will be. I believe both Hocus Pocus DVD and the Father of the Bride 2 DVD that were discs in the combo packs are still non-anamorphic widescreen discs just like the old releases. I wonder if they are just blowing through old stock first and then might press new proper DVD discs to repackage them with later on.

I am looking forward to getting the 3 movie set. The first movie is the best out of the 3. I have a lot of memories of the first movie.
I can't even remember when the other 2 films came out.
it will be nice to replace my 1:33:1 DVD. with a proper widescreen version.

I am trying to decide if I should buy the trilogy or just get the first two films. I love the first one and thought the second one was decent but not great nowhere near as good as the original. It was still watchable as for part 3 I saw the film once when it was released and remember not caring for it much at all. I am thinking of giving it another chance maybe I will like it more this time but I have a feeling it will still suck. The Trilogy set is going for around $30-$35 on Amazon and the first two films are around $15 each I believe. Can I have anyone's opinion on the third film is it the type of film that will grow on you with repeat viewings or does it just flat out suck?

I've also only seen the third film once and didn't care for it either, so I can't really comment about if it grows on you with repeat viewings or if it continues to be a title I don't care about. But I figured the price difference between just getting the first two films and the trilogy set were small, in fact I figured getting the third film for just $3 and a little bit of change more didn't hurt at all. I don't really know if I'll still not care for the third film, but for just a little bit more, I figured what the heck.

I was thinking the same thing I am mot likely going to place an order for the trilogy set tomorrow I am still curious to know what people thought of the third film.

Review is up at DVDizzy: http://www.dvdizzy.com/thesantaclaus...ollection.html

No mention whatsoever of the films being in full screen on the Blu-rays, and I know it would've been mentioned if that was the case. Looks like nothing to worry about (not really sure why there was worry in the first place).

It's not officially out until next week, so unless somebody got it early (like from DMC or something), we only have reviews to go off of. Based on the review, it doesn't look like any of the individual movies will have a slipcover. All there will be is the embossed red box that will house all three if you buy the trilogy.

Not sure if this has been discussed before, but does the trilogy set include the three movie in seperate cases, or are all the discs packaged in one large case?

Per the review linked above "This 3 Movie Collection holds the same standard Blu-ray cases of the film's individual releases, binding them in an embossed, reflective red box whose design is adapted from the ill-conceived sneakily full screen 2008 Holiday Collection. Each case is individually shrinkwrapped and each contains a Disney Movie Rewards code as its only insert. "

Technically they are full screen on a widescreen tv.

Well what was meant in this instance when referring to full screen is the pan and scan process where you lose part of the image and would thus see black bars on the left and right sides of the image on a widescreen TV.

What you're referring to is different than what I mentioned above, but what you're talking about is correct, just not what I was referring to. In this case, each film will indeed fill up the entire widescreen TV as they are widescreen 1.85:1 aspect ratios enhanced to fill up a widescreen TV. (Of course a higher aspect ratio would potentially give way to a little bit of black bars on the top and bottom, but this is not the case with these particular films).

I've never seen these films, but I'm always looking for some new Christmas movies. Are the second and third real stinkers?
