everyone whos going on about how they shouldnt make a sequel do realize that, there 2 movie sequals allready right?
When I first saw this thread title i was hoping it meant we were getting the REAL Christamas Story sequels "Ollie Hopnoodle's Haven of Bliss"
or perhaps the 3rd follow up "It Runs in the Family"

calling it a Christmas story 2 kind gives it that National Lampoons Christmas Vacation 2 kind of vibe. and thats not a compliment.
If they wanted to make another sequal they should have based it on one of the other Jean Shepard "RALPH PARKER" plays, or heck even made a christmas themed follow up of the original with a now grown up Peter Billingsly returning to the part.
I am not against another sequal they just should have not called it a christmas story 2 and based it on actual Jean Sheapard work.

I would have liked this if Peter Billingsley played an older Ralphie with his own family. But this looks like an abomination of horrible proportions.

Sadly I just texted my sister about this thinking she would respond in disgust and instead she sounded really excited. I hate to think I might get stuck watching this in 4 months...

Why couldn't they called this "Another Christmas Story" or "A(nother) Christmas Story"? I think those are better titles.

Yeah, the Charles Grodin sequel wasn't bad-bad, despite the obvious fact of it being Bob Clark-directed...

Although that was the real sequel, this is likely to be the "Worshipfully invoking the franchise's holy name" sequel, that has little or nothing to do with the original except for extending the running gags.
