well you can't really enjoy the movies unless you have read the books! they are really impossible to understand. the series of movies is very interesting in that they are just made as supplements to the books and to extend harry potter mania, not necessarily as movies in themselves. the books are without a doubt the best literature ever published as a series. i personally don't like the movies that much; however, they are still harry potter, and that makes them fun and awesome to watch. they leave an unbelievable amount of stuff out (they have to), and they also change a lot of stuff (they have to!)...the problem with this is that the stories become much less understandable and much worse overall in the movies. because of this, the movies aren't really going to be likable unless you have read the books. my recommendation to people: READ THE BOOKS 1-7. Read them all in order....then watch the movies....it will make the whole experience amazing.

as far as the thread goes, buying all five separately.

I'm buying them all separately too as well. I think it's ridiculous that we aren't getting a standard box set. I don't want the gift set because we still have 2 more on the way.

unfortunately, warner knows that people are going to buy the gift set...all about the money

they will probably make another gift set after 6 and then definitely again after 7 on whatever format exists at that time...

i too would have preferred a mission impossible type box with the five individual cases inside it

I must be one of the few that has never seen a single Harry Potter film. It always seemed to be too "kidsy", but with all of the buzz the movies/books seem to create, I might check out the first one. Are they really that good?

The first two skew a little younger, but they grow up as they progress. The first two are still great, but they really pick up with the third.

You could stop right there, my friend. If you could not appreciate the excellent transfer of that masterpiece movie, then I highly doubt you can make any judgements on movies whatsoever.
And thanks for the invitation to your "club", but no thanks ... I feel pretty good over here.

Default cool for fans

Obiously posters are not fans of HP. If they were, they would considering missing out this opportunity. The box set rescues the spirit of the story: I mean not only what you get from the movies, but also what you can feel through the books. Magic is not in flashy cases or luxury-looking packaging. It is in ordinary-looking stuff or even in "crappy-looking" things. I assure you Fans don't think they go wrong with this set. You don't know if there will be 2 more movies for sure, do you?(I'm Being pessimistic).

hahahaha WHAT? you think that people that don't want the box set aren't "true fans" of harry potter?

Come on now, how often are you going to look at/use/care about the "extras" you get in that box set?
