I really hope no producers listen to this thread. The choices are turning into the same ones which led Pamela Anderson to be cast as Barb Wire...

Wonder Woman needs to be a REALLY GOOD actress, not a pinup model nor a fair or bad actress like Beckinsale.

I disagree. Few would think Christopher Reeve looked the part when he was cast as Superman being skin bones, but he packed on roughly 40 pounds of muscle and by the time he put the suit on, looked the part. The superficial can be altered and molded to look like a character, but if you put someone who looks the part, but can't act, into a big movie, it will fail miserably.

No, Routh did a fine job as Superman/Clark and in many ways, I prefer his characterization of Kal-El to any other live action performer, Reeve included.

I too liked Routh as Superman/Clark Kent. I fault the writing and direction for the movie not being that great (but, who doesn't love the airplane rescue scene?).

I can not put him above Christopher Reeve though. My favorites in order would be:
1. Christopher Reeve
2. Brandon Routh
3. Tom Welling
Everyone else is tied for last.

On topic, Lynn Collins for Wonder Woman all the way. Back when Joss Whedon was set to make the movie I was for Morena Baccarin or Charisma Carpenter.

She's not really a bad actress...If you're judging here based solely on the Underworld films, don't place that blame on her. See some of her other pictures like The Golden Bowl and Snow Angels....

True, no one is ever gonna be above Christoper Reeve; end of story.

as for Morena, look what she did with the tv series V (and firefly and the movie serenity). you have my support on having her for WW. she can act and yes, she is beautiful and sexy too.

did i mention that she was beautiful and sexy already?!?

The fact that Catwoman was black had nothing to do with how bad Catwoman turned out...blame the writer, director and Halle Berry's lousy performance.

Did anyone see the video of the canceled show? It really looked totally awful. It was trying to be like the 1970s version but it just didn't work. Palicki just looked poorly cast and did not seem to be acting well even in the opening:

i thought it was great, i laughed my ass off here at work looking at it! it looks like it's meant to be kinda campy, kinda but it also looks like they want you to have fun.

i'd watch it, no problem. the chick was kicking ass all over the place. don't know about the acting but, i loved watching batman, superman, smalleville, stuff like that so i wouldn't have a problem watching this.

too bad that it won't come out. i think they should have started it off as a webisodes to see if they could drum up interest. mortal kombat was great at this and it had great production value too.

i do not vote for kate. i know a lot of tounge waggers like her because she's skinny and looks good in skin tight outfits (looks real good in them too) i think she is too petite to be an effective WW.

i think WW needs to be a good actress, can do action sequences well, built nicely and look good but also between 5'9 - 6' tall to really pull it off and not boney either, she's gotta have some meat to her.

that's not a knock against kate either, she can underworld her pretty little ass off all day but unless she can get taller and put about 25lbs on she won't get my vote for WW.

no one can touch her on underworld, she is thee deathdealer of our dreams (mine included) no doubt.

i'm sure i'm gonna take a beating about this, so, go ahead....

I actually thought that opening credits was ok. The music has to go and they really need to do something with the rope...

I thought she looks the part for sure and some of the physical things done are well done.

I am not into camp at all, give me a serious wonder woman or ANY comic book character any day. Jokes are fine(ie: Iron Man) however there has to be something serious at the core.

The producers and studio should have stuck with Ashley Judd, the original script and director.... At that time, it was still Catwoman...then it, combined with Elektra, single handedly crushed chances of further female superhero exploits... I don't recall any other attempts after that, that made it to any screen size....

I'm not sure about Kate playing Wonder Woman.

She can definitely tie me up and force me to tell the truth though.

I'd rather see another Underworld. She defied all normal descriptions of female characters and full on stepped into P!MP territory in that movie.

EDIT: I'm digging the idea of Rosario Dawson, but I see here as more of an Artemis. Rosario Dawson would easily play the only woman who could rip Wonder Woman's head off.

There aren't very many strong women left. Eliza Dushku is too short. Summer Glau is too lanky. Lena Headey is too cold.

We need a new face...like they did with troy.

I think Lynn Collins would be the perfect Wonder Woman. She knows how to sword fight , she has a banging body and her face is pretty attractive.

I was recently watching Real Steel and thought Olga Fonda had the look of Diana. I was showing my wife a picture and she wondered if she could handle the physicality of the role. Of course, Hollywood being Hollywood, I'm sure the stunt person could make anyone look good. I definitely like the look of her and think this should be the direction they should be looking in when casting.
