My main question is... amongst all the reading I've been doing, they keep recommending to anchor the shelves to the wall (since they're so tall and heavy with not much contact with the ground). I'm renting so this is not an option for me. Does everyone anchor their shelves? Would it be unsafe not to?

I don't have any children, but we do often have nieces and nephews visiting so I'm worried that curious little hands might cause it to tip...
Last weekend my niece toppled one of my DVD shelves. Luckily they were so tall that it hit the computer table on the other wall and didn't completely squash her. DVD's went everywhere though.

Oh man! Lucky.

Out of curiosity, how tall are your shelves?

I guess they can tip pretty much anything if they try... even my shelves that are like 1.3m tall

I've still got the first release of the Special Eds on video — in really good nick, but probably not worth very much — plus I found my boxed set of the first release of the soundtracks on CD from the early 80s — forgot I had that, and only found it when I was looking for the videos. I used to have the soundtracks on unopened mint-condition LPs as well — they would have been worth more — but they got burgled a long time back.

Yeah, I sometimes wonder where I'd be if I'd banked all the money I spent on videos and LPs and CDs and DVDs. And now, of course, Blu-rays.
Ouch Mac those LPs would've been something to have. As far as banking money, I'm still feeding the lucas machine I got this from Japan, was only $22 and I was curious about Blu-spec CD.

Suitably flash, eh? Never heard of "Blu-spec CD" ... what does it actually boil down to?

I'm still on plan for my current iPhone 4S, finishes around the end of next year. Dropped it a while back and the top button is jammed but still works, can't be bothered getting it repaired though.

I seem to get the 2nd version of each phone (3GS and now 4S) so I'll probably wait for the 5S if there ever is one? It's usually a year after they announce the first one

They use a blue laser (not red) to record the Master, "the blue laser creates more precise pits", giving supposedly less distortion and more stable read-out. It does sound good, but it's a 2012 remaster anyway. I can't honestly can't hear any difference . Like I said I was curious and just wanted to hear it for myself .

My current 24 month term finishes early next year, and as usually I will just continue on with the same plan and get a new phone. My 32gb iPhone 4 is still in perfect brand new condition too, so I might try to sell it. I'm actually thinking about ditching the iPhone this time around for a different brand of phone. After owning 2 iPhones the novelty has worn off, and they just feel overrated to me now.

Finally managed to track down these insert trays for Elite cases..

http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/...Gusto/Tray.jpg (the one on the right)

got them for a $1 each from a NZ company (leadingsolutions).. they also have 4-Disc and 6-Disc elite cases for under $4 each, i was going to get 10 6-Disc cases, but the shipping price was pretty high so I settled for 15 of the insert trays for now.

Join the HTC club

It's the first time I ventured away from Nokia and it was down to an iPhone 4 or the One X. Glad I chose the One X... best phone I've ever had.

Cevo - couldn't agree more. Good phone, but too locked into one system for my liking.

Nick - nope, going to get either the Galaxy S3 or the HTC One S. I moved away from the iPhone and have not regretted it one bit. The main thing for me was when a iOS update was available, my phone would lag a bit until i did the upgrade, which meant having to put it in iTunes and sit there answering 'no' to backing up etc etc, but with Android i can be anywhere and the upgrade happens quickly and with no fuss

The missus just picked up the S3 yesterday and I tell you what - it seems awesome from first impressions, huge screen and super responsive!
