Blind-bought this too last night, as I enjoy Mikkelsen, I think Vinterberg is much better than someone like Von Trier, and there's a possibility we'll get a slipcover from Amazon.
Also the writer-director of A Highjacking co-wrote this. Nice. |

Hi. I see that Arrow reissued this in 2017 under the Academy label. Is the disc exactly the same as the 2013 one? Is it still 50i and with no extras? Thanks.

I just checked the Arrow site, though, and it lists all the extras featured on the US disc, plus booklet... so it's definitely not the old UK disc. Hopefully, they re-encoded the movie too. Anyone?

While the source may have been 24 fps, they could have mastered it for 25 fps in post. That's the way they did Flame & Citron. Not that the two projects have anything besides Mads in common.
I don't know for certain, but the Danish and the UK releases are 25 fps, so that's what I'd put my money on being correct. |

Cool. It's on sale at Zavvi (£9, after a discount code) so I may order a copy. Just don't want to find out later on that it's not meant to be that way. |

Shot on What says the "distributed frame rate" was 24fps, but who knows really. I don't know why Arrow would put it out at 1080i/50 if it weren't meant to be like that.

I just checked my copy of the "Arrow Acadamy" newer release and it is 24p, not 50i like the earlier release. Frustrating, not sure which is correct. I was hoping it would actually be 50i like the old disc so I didn't have to worry about it. Lol

Finally got the new BD. Glad to say it features a totally new, strong encoding and yes, in 1080p. I did some comparison and the old 1080i release clearly shows the terrible interlaced imperfections; now it's alright. Colour space is a bit wrong (lacks something), but that can be easily corrected.

Arrow imported all the (actually very brief) extras from the US disc, and even added a nice booklet, which is a plus (even though only the interview with the director really matters, after all). |
