General Zavvi Steelbook Discussion Thread

I was told on twitter by Zavvi that they're working on new steelbook packaging and hope to have it in time for Roger rabbit release. And it will be something similar to play's packaging.

Good news though, I am curious what kind of packaging they will use.

Play.com's packaging was/is the best packaging.

I have stored all my Play.com steelbook packaging boxes in the attic (use them to ship traded /sold steelbooks) .

nice, i didn't realize that is what E.T. would be coming in play does have marvelous packaging, the only thing safer would be a titanium shipping case.

I am in US also, Zavvi wont pay return shipping unless they get it back, and numerous people have said they always say they didnt get it back. Express and priority is ridiculous now, its something like 40-45.00. I am not going to keep repeating it because Ill sounds like a broken record, but he is wrong and misguiding you because he has business interests in that company. (reseller, getting paid for referrals) I had to get my credit card involved to get anywhere.

Zavvi is not like Amazon.

i buy for friends who dont have credit cards or f amily my dad gf
thats not reselling
ihad one issue and they paid me said keep the movie
if the place was crap i wouldent use them
and they all so said you could return it and they pay the return ( i said no ill keep it ) was a brocken tab they emailed me 3 days later said you got a full refund


so they been good to me i dont care if people order f rom them or not just s aying they been good to me

I am not going to argue with you because the thread has since been removed, but there was a thread in the Canadian Hot Deals forum where you were getting paid, compensated, etc for sending referrals to Zavvi, it was numerous pages long. That is considered a business interest in a company is what I am saying. You got the customer service nod because you buy alot, I didnt have that luxury. You are a reseller because you have a thread here, for starters with numerous of UK titles at an inflated price, Its your thread, you may want to look again.

stick with Amazon if you can.

i wonder when the steel packaging will be updated, even though you can return for refund, i don't want to be bothered with waiting patiently to get a damaged item do to poor packaging.

I would hope by the time Roger Rabbit comes out. I wonder if they will just buy all of Play.coms unused steelbook boxes

yeah, hope they get hte proper packaging soon, the shipping is very cheap, 0.99 gbp to ship to the usa. i really wanna pick zombieland and fight club up..especially fight club cuz it is a super good price

a direct quote from zavvi customer service. i messaged them about living in the US and seeing pictures of the packaging being those thing cardboard mailer envelopes. this is their reply:

"We make every effort to ensure that items are despatched from our warehouse in secure packaging to ensure they arrive with our customers in perfect condition.

The staff in our warehouse know that certain items such as steelbooks can be easily damaged and so will put a bit more padding in to make sure they survive the trip."

hmm, do i order the few i wanted? xD

That might be a future plan, but not as yet. Got a Black Hawk Down (I ordered 2 and they sent them separately) today in one of those cardboard mailers. No obvious damage to the steelbook, but there is the distinctive sound of a loose disc inside....

Oh, well, I guess that can't be called the fault of the shipping package.
