Thanks for the suggestion... (I actually gave my DVD's to a friend when I got the Blu, but I'm sure I could borrow them back). I might consider it eventually, but I'll probably just wait a while and see if they get added. $15 vs $6 is another blu ray from walmart's bin

The main reason I find that collection so frustrating is I don't like movies spread over more than one disc/requiring changing, but we only watch them once or twice a year, so hopefully by next time!

I have done about 10 movies at home, most worked fine. Exceptions were:
  • Miami Vice (Unrated Director's Cut Edition)
  • Forgetting Sarah Marshall (Unrated)
  • So I Married An Axe Murdere
  • Terminator Salvation (Director's Cut)

Terminator Salvation showed up as the theatrical at home and at Walmart, so I didn't convert that one.

The girl at the photo center had never heard of D2D, but her coworker did. He was very helpful. The process took a while but only because he was helping a woman develop her own photos on the machine and she needed a lot of help.

Overall, not too bad, but still WAY easier to do at home. None of my Blu-rays were stamped at all, either. Not sure if he just didn't know to do it, or if they are ending that requirement. Hoping for the latter!

No, it just started 2 months ago, it's still in beta. Hopefully it will be coming out of beta soon.

They need to add it ASAP. I am sure there are better Blu-ray players out there but I think the PS3 in probably the most popular.

This will hold me over until we see a U.S. Blu-ray release.
This made me happy as well. Found some others with no US release but UV/HDX compatible too. Barton Fink, The Pianist, Marathon Man; to name a few.

Is anyone keeping a list of these disc-to-digital UV/HDX titles that aren't available on Blu-ray? Here's some DVD-only titles I've converted to HDX:

Lake Placid (non-anamorphic DVD)
The Haunting (1999)
House On Haunted Hill (1999)
Cube
Mindhunters
John Carpenter's Vampires
Jason X
Bring It On
Snake Eyes (non-anamorphic DVD)
Femme Fatale
Basic (2003)
Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Cradle of Life
Urban Legends: The Final Cut
Leap of Faith
The Englishman That Went Up A Hill But Came Down A Mountain (non-anamorphic DVD)
Volcano (non-anamorphic DVD)
Eight Legged Freaks
Oliver!
The Producers (2005)
Philadelphia Story
Yankee Doodle Dandy
Mixed Nuts (current DVD is fullscreen)
Prince of Darkness (1987)
In The Mouth of Madness
Zero Effect
Josie & The Pussycats
The Dish
Team America: World Police

There's a master list you can find here:

https://forum.vudu.com/showthread.ph...emption-Log%29

I'm not sure if you can sort on the list, but it gives the title, format available, and whether it accepts DVD/Blu-ray.

So seems like they finally got the LOTR EE discs working as of 5/8 according to a post on the vudu forums (not sure if this is the at home or store only).

Had a question...i dont have a bluray drive but i know they used to stamp the discs in the store. Does anyone know if they still stamp discs in the stores now since the home version is available? If so, does the stamp come off easily or not? Id like to get a few movies but would rather not have my discs stamped with a walmart logo.

Appears to only be in store as the LOTR EE discs don't identify as the EE in the app.

I can't say for sure whether they still stamp them or not since I haven't done it for awhile. That said, with a cotton ball and a little rubbing alcohol, the stamps come off easily. They stamp the inner plastic ring, which is very simple to clean. They didn't hit the target perfectly and got some of the disc art on mine, but there still was no problem removing the stamp.

My store hasn't stamped discs for me since the at-home app became available. Granted, my store also does so little of these that every time I go in I need to remind them of the process. I didn't go out of my way to tell them to stamp my discs

haha thanks for the info...yeah i was wondering how the process goes. I can only imagine that the stores near me have no idea how it works either. Good to know about the stamps so if they do actually do it then itll come off. Ill test the process with a couple that i have double dipped on to feel it out lol. I made a list of about 20 movies I would like to get but I dont even want to know what would happened if I dropped that on them.

Sent my wife today with the list. Initially we couldn't find the one disc so I printed it out again sans that disc. Then my daughter found the disc. So she went out with the first list including the missing disc. Well, that is linked with your account so when she got to Wal mart they wouldn't do that disc. However, I was still at home and added it back to the list and everything was ok. You get an email verification about your purchase too.

The movies I got were all not out on Blu-ray yet but available in HDX.

The quality looks like true HD vs up conversion. They all look cleaned up with no or very little artifacts so they were worth it and now I can delete my DVR archived HD versions of these movies.

There are still DVDs I own that aren't in HDX like Palmetto and Thirteen Days. I am getting Kiss of The Dragon soon on BD and if the copy is as crappy as they say I am going to pay $3 and get the HDX version and hope it looks better. That movie was $5 so its not a big deal.

So far, its been a bust for me using the DVD discs from Blu Ray combo packs, none of these were found/elligible:

Source Code (Best Buy Flipper)
Mirror Mirror
Losers
Stolen
Thor
Captain America
Avengers
Sucker Punch
Total Recall (2012, lost the UV code)
Black Swan (Target Exclusive Blu Ray/DVD/Digital Copy)
Tekken
The Other Guys
Knight and Day (Blu Ray/DVD gift set)
Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol

The following dvd discs from Blu Ray combo packs did work, but only redeem for $5 HDX/$2 SD:
Paul
Scream 4
Hall Pass
The Eagle (Best Buy Exclusive Flipper Disc)

Also, anyone tried the DVD disc on Lawless? I have the combo pack, but havent opened it yet, but I'd love it if an HDX $2 was possible or even just normal $5

Why not use the Blu-ray discs? No BD drive?

Yeah Considering I have a huge collection, maybe getting one wouldn't be such a bad investment, I have 100 titles in my UV now, but thats only a fourth/fifth of my collection, I'd definitely love to have more HDX movies on the go.
