except it's a flimsy eco case.
![]() other than that it's a wonderful release. Fortunately I found some similar clear cases on ebay that are not eco and have replaced the eco case with a "regular" case. I will be doing this for all my Cohen bds. ![]() |

I am unsure what you mean by "flimsy". The case isn't cut like the real eco cases. It is as solid as the regular thin cases many releases come with.
I think that these clear cases look great. You would have to do something really terrible to break them. Pro-B |

I received my copy of Tristana today and Cohen has done a terrific job on this title. The transfer is wonderful and they've produced some quality supplements. My only real issue with the disc is the credits seem to have been altered. The international releases open with a 2 minute credit sequence, while the version on the Cohen release only credits the main stars and a few more cast & crew members at the end. They omit credits for additional castmembers, key crew, the film's original production studios, etc. Perhaps these were trimmed or altered from their print of the film decades ago, but it strikes me as an insensitive alteration to the film. Edit: In doing some research, the credits were likely altered by Raymond Rohauer, who has been known to alter films for copyright reasons and has been described as a pirate. He acquired the US rights to the film in the '70s and Cohen Media Group used his print of the movie for the restoration and Blu-ray. Despite the altered credits and a slightly different edit of the ending (an alternate ending is included in the supplements), the transfer on this new Blu-ray is terrific and this is the best treatment this forgotten classic has received on home video. Thanks, Pro-B (and thanks Cohen Media). I have never seen this but have always wanted to. Any indication of release date? Maybe July? |

Blancanieves (Pablo Berger) - September 3rd
Two Men in Manhattan (Jean-Pierre Melville) - September 17 In the House (Francois Ozon) - September 24 Cohen are making some interesting title choices and kudos to them for doing so. As far as I'm aware, Melville's Two Men in Manhattan has never before been released with English subtitles and is only available on Gaumont a la demande in France. |

Cohen is rapidly becoming an interesting complement to Criterion, Kino, and Olive! Hope they can keep it up! |
