Wow, Zavvi are really going for it. I can't see the other steel listed on the site so I assume it hasn't been put up there yet.

Here's hoping the artwork is completely new.

Yup, it's annoying that people are posting this as fact without giving any background for it anywhere in the thread as to where the announcement came from.

I've just had a look over at HDN and that's where it's from - Wreck, the member with contacts and dealings for things like this, posted that Zavvi would also have an 'alternative' artwork steelbook for Star Trek. Also that they're working on their delivery times.

The info I believe from what I have just read also states that the "other" possible release will not be a zavvi exclusive and this thread is specifically about the zavvi exclusive...........!

It all seems a bit confused over there (well, and here I guess) - some assume that this Play reprint will be the Zavvi exclusive, some think the other will be and this is a mass reprint available to all, some think that Zavvi are offering both as exclusives...

I've no idea to be honest. I'm intrigued by this but I'm mostly happy that I got the Play one back in 2009 and don't need to worry about twhich ne of these to get and from where.

the re-print will probably be available elsewhere and the one with new artwork will be Zavvi exclusive (according to HDN forum)

Wreck and HDN is the source - the owner of HDN and the guy with a foot inside Zavvi's steelbook wing. He had the same at Play, and was instrumental in getting some of the designs that we had from Play as well as their improved packaging. See the interior artwork of Terminator? That's the one we voted on at HDN and we got to do that because of Wreck. He's practically a better source than Zavvi themselves.

The reprint of Play's original Star Trek isn't Zavvi exclusive - we all just thought it was. The new alternate artwork IS Zavvi exclusive.

If you want steelbook news and information, you need to be at HDN instead of doubting information that's coming from the top. Just a heads up.

Maybe if you put your source in your post no one would have questioned you and you wouldn't have got upset and had a little rant.

Not everyone has the time to be on all forums all the time, so when you post info always back it up with the source otherwise you're going to keep getting people questioning you.

Also great for people like me that did jump on this Steelbook train until just recently...I did not even know abut them until I picked up TDKR at BB on Black Friday.

One thing though, is this the Star Trek movie that all the HT buffs rave about?

We're on a forum - the sort of place where anyone can claim anything. Plenty of rumours get stated as fact, some people just post BS for the sake of it. It's the nature of the internet. You can't instantly believe everything that is posted is 'correct'. It doesn't take much to say where you got the info from. If people had to research everything that was stated on this forum then it would take all day.

All it takes is to say where you heard it from. Then people would be thanking you for this info (as it is helpful info) rather than debating this point with you. It's just good posting etiquitte.

Hey, that's pretty cool. Did you do this yourself, if so what program did you use?
