Looks very interesting and I'm extremely curious about this game! Let's hope that it brings to the table the same thing Halo did with the X-Box or Uncharted with the PS3...

Activision Release 60 Second “Law Of The Jungle” Destiny Trailer, Hint At Sony’s E3 Conference

Quote:
As part of the run up to E3, Activision and Bungie have teamed with director Jon Favreau and actor Giancarlo Esposito to create “Law of the Jungle.”

Crafted together with the award-winning visual effects studio Digital Domain, “Law of the Jungle” gives players a taste of Destiny’s action-packed adventures through a live-action and CG interpretation of the epic game universe.

The video also announces the official worldwide Destiny gameplay reveal on June 10th during Sony’s PlayStation E3 Press Conference.

Not sure I can get into a game where the middle guy in the trailer looks like he peed himself. :P

Hola!

They've already said there's going to be no monthly subscription for this, right?

Right.

I think it's going to be one of those freemium types where everythings micro transactioned.

Bit like DUST 514.

Hmmm, have to wait and see if it's tastefully handled or not.

I just saw the wolf pack trailer on TV, is it me or is it way too early to start advertising on TV? What's the earliest this launches, January 2014?

Crap, I was excited about this game. But the fact that it is only playable online turns me off to it a bit. Is this a very common thing for games now days?

I'll have to do a lot of thinking about purchasing such a game. I'm not even sure I can get a good enough connection with my current set up for online play. Sometimes my computer barely even works with my wireless connection.

It does require an online connection but you can play this as a single player experience if you choose to do so. The developers likened it to the game Journey. You will see other people while you play of course but you are not required to interact with them. The point of the online connection is that the Destiny universe is an always evolving, always changing ecosystem. What Bungie is trying to achieve with this is to give the game an "organic" feel to it.

Personally this along with Killzone: Shadowfall are the two FPS that have me the most excited. If both live up to the hype I will probably skip COD and Battlefield altogether.

Thanks. Yeah, I can believe the online world will be quite an incredible experience and I really want to try it. I just don't like that if I can't get a good internet connection, or no internet. I won't be able to play the game. I wasn't even planning to try connecting my PS4 to the internet right away. But since this game is coming out later, I think what I'll do is experiment with online play a little before it comes out. And then decided if I want to invest $60 or whatever on a game I may potentially not even be able to play at some point. It would be nice if they had some kind of offline play even if it's not nearly as expansive as the online world.

I was thinking about skipping Killzone: Shadowfall since I figured once I got Destiny Killzone would probably end up falling to the wayside. Figured it would be better to save my money and wait for the shooter I want to play the most. But now I'm thinking I'm going to pick up Killzone after all. So far I've not seen any indications that it will be only playable online. Also, skimming through the Killzone thread I saw hints that it may have an 3D option. If that's the case I would want it for sure. I have a nice 3D set up, and not yet played a 3D video game. Dying to try it. I can imagine Killzone would be pretty bad ass in full 3D, and combined with the audio... But not getting my hopes up too high on the 3D until I see that it's been confirmed.

Shadow Fall seems to be kind of generic so far, plus KZ3 was a HUGE letdown, so I'm skipping that unless GG has shown something very interesting about it.

I'm wondering if (and if) the Destiny Vita game would allow access to exclusive content with the PS3 and PS4 versions of Destiny. I've never been a fan of MMOFPS games, but Destiny is looking to have some potential considering that Bungie wants to aim for a more "organic" world like Journey.

The only first person shooters I've played are Quake 3 arena online on the Sega Dreamcast. I was very addicted to that for what must have been nearly two years. Also, I played and still have the first Halo game. Only played that offline. So any of these shooters for the PS4 will be fresh and new to me in a huge way.

Shadow Fall looks visually fresh, considering the warzone environments of KZ2 and KZ3, but it looks like your typical dudebro shooter where you go through corridors and press X for Awesome. I do like the fact that you have a bit more freedom when traversing through the level, especially the part where you can boost yourself on a huge ledge.
