Seems to be speeding up as it approaches the $2m mark, although I can see it dropping off in the days to come after it passes the target.

Still, that's not to take away the accomplishment at all. At the end of the day, fans are going to have financed a film in less than a day. That's incredible

Even if you're not interested in a Veronica Mars film itself it's still an unbelievable accomplishment for the industry. I'm not saying this will catch on but, in its own right, it's still a little bit of history.

Not a fan of the show (because I've never seen it) but this is pretty awesome. I hope to see other shows/movies work in this outlet. I wonder how much they will end up reaching?

That's amazing! Glad to see fans come out in force to back this. I did the $200 pledge, even if I can't really afford it, but I don't mind. This is deserved.

LOL! Obviously it will slow down a bit now, BUT the news of this revolutionary tactic should certainly get this show's name out there and hopefully garner it new viewers and fans.

So far as I can find, the highest one-day total for a kickstarter campaign is $2.6M, for a campaign that went on to make over $10M.
This has a chance to beat that record, as its at $2.2M now in less than 12 hours!
