Robert, why does Chad's measurements differ so much from Kevin's?
Chad's measurement is different from Kevins because Chad decided to leave the Black Optimzer feature of because thats how the tv was shipped....Personally I think that was probably the worst decision you can make especially if you are calibrator. If he used that same logic with local dimming leds all local dimming sets would have horrendous black levels and there would clouding with halos everywhere. I think the f8500 deserved a better review than chads. Atleast Kevin did his review correctly with the black optimizer ON that should be a more accurate review

Anyone interested in one, NCIX has it for $2499 but with the coupon code AVIP2013P02300, they shop off an extra $300. Shipped, 4 years in home coverage, txs, just about $2500. Only a few left.....

How easily did they price match a site like that?? Heard mixed, shady reviews about that site.

I probably would have purchased a Samsung 8500 over the VT60 if I could have received a competitive price. I heard that Samsung doesn't allow their vendors to discount the TV's. The 60' f8500 was just too much in comparison to the VT60, when in comes down to performance, are essentially equal. I would be shocked if Samsung is really selling many F8500 in comparison to the Panasonic sales.

Right now I'm focused on waiting till next year to buy a tv due to the prices being soo high this year especially for a zt60....but I may buy a set this year if I really become tempted....the TVA released this year have been awesome. More than just solid performers, superb performers!

That's the best you're going to find in that size.

Just took delivery on a 51 inch.

The remote is quite the learning curve for me but I like!

Question: While trying the different screen sizes, I could not access Screen Fit.

Being new to the forum & Plasma, please excuse my novice questions. Also, in order to prevent IR what are your recommendations.

Thanks!

Try your best to watch only full screen (no horizontal or vertical black bars) the first 100 hours or so ( a little cheating is ok) other than that, add variety to what you watch- watch something with bars on the side, then switch to full screen, then horizontal bars, then back to full screen, avoid channels with logos in the same place for too long

If you play a video game with health meters and things, don't play for hours on end. Try not to leave things paused for long times or to be in Netflix type browsing menus for long periods of time.

Key is just variety and lots and lots of full widescreen content
