![]() ![]() ![]() Also, and this is just coming from my experiences and what I've been taught in stage and film lighting, if you want to make a character look afraid, or unnatural, you light them from below as we are not used to seeing people lit that way. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is a case study in this. In fact, Laura Dern tells a story about how Spielberg cheered her up when they were trapped in a hotel riding out a hurricane during the making of Jurassic Park. Spielberg held a flashlight and shined its light over the top side of her face, then held it under her chin, and repeated the moves, saying, "Love story! Horror film! Love story! Horror film!" That's why I felt Wart looks unnatural in this cover, because he's lit from below, and his expression and the under lighting of his face create "unnatural" shadows. But as a poster above said, I can't see the cover when the package is sitting on my shelf, so it's no big deal. Just making some observations. Last edited by Ernest Rister; 05-17-2013 at 04:13 PM. |

And all the Blus have had more computer style animation that I find a bit odd. I don't dislike it, and obviously have bought most of the releases and plan to buy the rest, but they've been a bit odd. The worst to me so far have been the mock ups for The Jungle Book in Europe. |

That's the beauty of art, it strikes people in many different ways. I get what you're saying about the face being lit from a light source below, and I can agree with that, just not here. ![]() |

So, if I understand right, this film has no chance of being subjected to one of the fancy new Disney digital restorations that they do for their top-flight classics, yes? I assume that it will instead just be a new transfer from film elements a la everything not a Platinum/Diamond Edition?
