The original Dawn of the Dead is my favorite.

If we weren't limiting our choices to the four in the poll, here's how I'd rank my favorite zombie films:

I actually love all these movies, and I’d say Return and Day are more entertaining overall than Night, but Night deserves the higher rank for being the modern originator. I’m still not ranking it at the top because Dawn is just too dang great.

I also love many other zombie movies, like many of the ones mentioned in this thread. The Night and Dawn remakes are solid IMO. Shaun and Zombieland are A-level entries too.

I still enjoyed Romero’s later Dead films, but they paled in comparison to his original Dead trilogy. Some of the Italian zombie movies are also great fun.

I watched Night of the Living Dead and didn’t like it at all I definitely want to watch Dawn of the Dead at some point but I prefer zombie films with a twist or with interesting characters and a good story. Or as in the case of Dead Snow flipping Nazi zombies going after college students.

Deep abiding love for the Romero trilogy, and Return of the Living Dead.

But it might have to go to Shaun of the Dead for personal reasons, as I'm in it.

I don't actually tend to watch a lot of zombie movies compared to some but Shaun of the Dead is an absolute classic for me and World War Z is pretty solid too.

I haven't watched it myself but Train to Busan is given a lot of praise and if i am honest, i think Korean cinema and TV has got a lot of great zombie centric stuff come out the last few years.

For me, i think the problem we have is that people maybe felt the slow roaming and groaning zombies didn't present a proper challenge which is where you ended up with those World War Z freak versions.
