It's a day counter. Would be nice to see the actual month/Day/Year of expiration associated with your Plus account like eg,

I dunno, no big deal I guess. As long as you remember when your Month/Day expiration is. I've noticed sometimes games don't sync right away too when adding time to your membership. I thought maybe the terms of service are different on a title to title basis but the next day the game displayed the correct amount of days left.

Contrast was really a great game, not played anything like it before with all the shifting into the shadows.

And Resogun is addictive, simplistic awesomeness.

Yes you have to purchase it as you normally would any other game from the store. Also within the time window of when it is free. Keep your eyes peeled.

Thanks to the posts but I don't see any NEW PS Plus games (since the lauch ps plus games) since the PS4 was launched in November. Are they adding any new ones for December? Or Waiting till January?

If they put anything new up, it would most likely be on or after the 15th of the month. I only say that because each game should get at least 30 days as free on plus, and the console was released only 3 weeks ago.

I already had it on the vita like 6months ago so it was free for the ps4 version. Kinda cool they do that. Hope they release plants vs zombies.

Well we know there is nothing for December, we know Don't Starve has been dated for January 7th and we know it was promised to be free day one for PS+. So unless it gets a last minute delay or something that will be the next free game on the PS4 front.

December wouldn't have made sense to do anything really. System only came out mid-month and they take a Holiday break with no store updates at the end of the year. Plus it is good of them to factor in people that would get it for Christmas and not have something pulled by then.

Still some benefits this month like the Tiny Brains discount though. And long time members might have taken advantage of stuff like the cheap Escape Plan price which would mean a free download on PS4 now. Zen Pinball 2 is the 17th so people that got free tables or discounted tables with PS+ will have those carry over to PS4. No good for new members but nothing wrong with long term member benefits

Don't forget that the games we got at the end of November are the December titles, And the games we will get at the end of December will be the January titles.

As for the UK, our Jan titles should be up be the end of this month. The last Wednesday falls on Dec 25th, so I can't see them updating on Christmas day, it will either come a day or two early, or come a day or two after, either way it will hit before the New Year.

It appears as though PlayStation Europe won’t be breaking their tradition of releasing the monthly PlayStation Plus free games early as Jawad Ashraf, a member of the PlayStation Store Team, said that we can expect the January 2014 PS+ free games at the “very end of December. [Chris Howe, PlayStation Store and PlayStation Plus Content Manager] will have more details to share in a week or two.”

With the final Wednesday of December landing on December 25th, it’s possible there may be a Christmas update, or they may do an early update on December 31st to avoid the New Year’s holiday.

When it comes to what we should expect, there’s no hints as to the PS3 or PS Vita free games, but if all goes according to plan, expect Don’t Starve to be the free game on PlayStation 4.

If you still haven’t grabbed them yet, don’t forget that the December 2013 PS+ free games in Europe includes Resogun, Contrast (PS4), GRID 2, Guacamelee!, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, and Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (PSP, PS Vita compatible).

For those of you in North America, expect either Borderlands 2 or Dyad to be free this coming Tuesday.
