Same thing I was thinking about the corpse, an early splinter that went wrong with the virus coming from the future..

Am I the only one who thinks the actor playing Cole is "meh"...

Such a big letdown after Bruce Willis' awesome performance.

I like him as Cole.
He also played Pyro in X2 and The Last Stand.

[Show spoiler]You know they did a pretty good job deaging Katerina especially when they seemingly did little to age most of the 87 people.

I figured it was one of the previous attempts but now I'm leaning to it is someone that tries to use the machine without the serum.
[Show spoiler] I'm betting on the leader of that one gang.

Could be... I had not seen this week epi when I posted and that new blue band group seems like they know stuff. I wonder if the flowers are from the flower guy when cole blasted him, maybe the corpse is the flower guy as well.

I don't think it could be any of the characters we know. They are all genetically immune. That's why they survived in the first place.

The new group looks really weird. They better explain them some rather than just have them be a crappy plot device and get rid of them.

I'm no doctor but I think you could still obtain the virus from someone that is immune.

Immunity doesn't equal contamination free!

Many immune people are still carriers for a virus and can transport it to others without immunity.

That's why it seems odd... for them to willy-nilly send people back in time UNLESS they just don't show us the decontamination sequence before sending Cole back.

For them the plague has already happened so there is no risk in sending them back however if they can prevent it .....

The fact that the future is still the same and that Cole cannot splinter anymore would suggest that Coles future efforts are unsuccessful

ONLY in the reality moment we are currently watching. The 'true' future is not shown in the show, but instead the various versions of the past/present/future that will change to make the real future. The real future would be a no show since nothing would have happened. OR there are alternate futures and Cole saved a few of them and messed up others.

Yes, but if they are trying to prevent the plague from happening, it isn't smart to send a potentially infected Cole back into various times in the past.

A proper scientist trying to prevent the plague would also make sure they don't inadvertently spread the plague they are trying to start... worse, the virus carried by Cole might be one of the more mutated versions than the original... and might make the plague in the past much worse if they aren't careful.

I just assume they have a decontamination sequence before they send him back... and they just don't show us, just like they never show us Cole using the toilet but he must be doing it.

Reminds me of this one from Assassins Creed "Nothing is true, everything is permitted." Which was based from the Alamut ""Nothing is an absolute reality, all is permitted"."Where did yours come from?

How about this though: They know in the future how to treat the first virus or the first mutation if i remember correctly before they killed the guy that had the other power source, so why not send Cole back to the past exactly at the time of the infection that can be stopped w a vaccine from the future from the other guy.

That would have been a good idea... except Katarina destroyed all that guy's research and killed everyone who worked on developing that cure.

Her one-mindedness about her approach, means they don't have any kind of cure. The smart play would have been to immunize all the survivors in the world AND send Cole back with the cure.

It would be a paradox, but it still would be smarter than destroying the cure completely.

yeap, she wants everything to NOT happen, I guess her decision to burn it to the ground meant her kid died at a point before the infection started or something?

Good season, I didn't think I would like it as much as I did. I look forward to what happens in Season 2.
