If it's like any of the other BDs that Drafthouse Films has put out, it'll be a clear case.

The print I saw was a bit scratched up, but not distractingly so, and the soundtrack was LOUD. It was great to see it on a big screen.

Do you guys think the price for this will dip down to around 18-20? Never bought from Drafthouse Films before, so I'm not sure on how their pricing is.

Thanks

Did you attend one of the screenings that was for the (rare) R-Rated cut? That would explain the scratched up print, as Drafthouse Films is not restoring that cut.

I saw the (new) Uncut print when it came through San Francisco last year. The theater was small, and well attended! After the first scene involving Thana, the guy next to me walked out and never came back.

Most of their titles are around the $15-17 mark on Amazon currently, so quite possibly.

Yes, and I had no expectations of any restoration, and was happy to watch an actual print. I don't have much interest in theatrical digital projections - might as well just wait for the BD in that case.

There were a few groans of anger and disgust from female viewers once
[Show spoiler]the second rape began,
but I didn't notice anyone leaving.

I'm a bit jealous that you got to see that R-Rated print!

You asked about extras earlier in the thread, this link was posted over at DVDTalk that mentions some of them:

Those two don't really compare. It's a rape-revenge movie, so the question is really how you feel about those, if you have seen any?

Obvious titles would be The Last House on the Left, I Spit on Your Grave, Death Wish, or Irréversible.

Personally, I find rape much harder to stomach than most other screen violence, though I do like the genre - not for the rapes, of course, but because the rape-revenge movie talks to a basic feeling of helplessness when confronted with violence and let's us play out a very human fantasy of power and justified revenge.

Curiosity got the best of me earlier today, so I watched a streaming video of Ms. 45. It's an uncanny film that comes across like a cross between a Don Siegel movie and a Dario Argento movie.

Zoë Tamerlis had a cameo in the Season Two premiere of the Miami Vice TV series, the episode where Crockett and Tubbs visit New York City. This was a great way to pay homage to her impact.

What's preventing me from preordering is not the price but the uncertainty about whether or not it's cut.

I believe you can go ahead and preorder. It said it in the first release details on the site.

"Independent distributors Drafthouse Films have confirmed that they are planning to bring to Blu-ray director Abel Ferrara's cult thriller Ms. 45 (1981), starring Zoë Lund, Albert Sinkys, Darlene Stuto, and Helen McGara. Remastered in HD from the original negative materials, the film will return to theaters this December, and will make its debut on Blu-ray, fully uncut, next year. "

You can also order this directly from Drafthouse Films. The pre-order for it just went up today. It will be $20.39 shipped just like The Visitor. Thanks to NoirFan for alerting me to this option. They will charge your card when you order however.

I had ordered this title through Deep Discount for ~$16 with their 15% off coupon, but they canceled my order.
