From what has been shown so far, No Man's Sky puts exploration front and center, as if you take on the role of a space explorer with the freedom to search the galaxy till your heart's content, examining different planets for new life, etc. With everything auto generated, hopefully there are some big landmarks on each planet to aim for, rather than an even landscape of generic sights. I plan on buying this, but would like to learn more about the objective to reach the center of the galaxy's blackhole sun. |

I'm in love with the concept but yeah there will have to be things to do to keep the interest. I think some are being a little harsh on it for saying is that all you do though...there are many basic games (Diablo comes to mind) that really if you look at it don't offer much but upgrade and finding stuff crack.
Love the portals...reminds me of Stargate SG1. Hopefully the planets will be varied enough and there will be enough battles and what not to keep you busy beyond just exploring. |

![]() http://www.gameinformer.com/b/featur...nomanssky.aspx Btw, for those -still- wondering what No Man's Sky is about, here is a summary found on Neogaf collated by Ichtyander. It should probably be put it in the OP as well if possible imo. Quote:

Game Informer's article was also interesting. I read awhile back that there are plenty of underground caves in the world, with some micro life forming where the developer said he didn't expect it. I know you can go underwater with the right suit gear, so that is good.
They stress peaceful exploration and if the player gets violent, the enemies will rack up against them for the rest of the game, remembering the crimes, which would result in a more action packed game, though with less uninterrupted peaceful exploration I'd guess? |

Yes. They did mention, that even if you're going a peaceful, exploration route, you'll still have occasional enemies to contend with. The closer you get to the center of the galaxy, the more danger appears.
It's interesting how they said they don't mind if you ignore going to the center completely, and just explore the universe; suggesting to play as you like. |

Developers should start trying to make "Procedurally Generated Trophies" to conform to our playstyles. (Was joking, but now that I think about it that would actually be kind of great). But yeah, I don't trophy hunt either, unless it's like a gold trophy, then I'll bend my play to snag it. There's just something about gold that seems so, so...precious...
