Thanks. It's a little annoying but the foreign transaction fee isn't too big so I guess I can deal with it.

I think I'm going to wait on preordering until Arrow puts up their Q4 announcements (hopefully that happens soon).

I wrote an email to 88 Films, asking whether they would be utilising the same transfer as Vinegar Syndrome, and got the answer that the two companies have the exact same master. Both companies have posted screen grabs on their respective Facebook pages, but unfortunately, nothing really from the same scenes for easy comparison.

This and Satan's Blade are my 2 most-anticipated BD releases for September. Haven't heard anything new about the latter, which is worrying me a bit. BTW, I like GRADUATION DAY enough to grab both versions. Gotta have the 88 Films doc for completists' sake

I think it looks great! The
[Show spoiler]first kill in the beginning almost looks too good, as you can see just how fake everything was, but its been so long since I have seen this, I forgot what it looked like at a lower quality
.

I am awaiting the comparison screenshots, but at first watch, I am very happy with the VS blu ray.

I love VS but I wish they'd hire a better encoder. There's no reason the perfact grain from the master:

needs to be so heavily mutilated once it gets to disc:

I want the 88 films release but I don't want to wait the extra couple months. I hope the doc will be worth it.

Was kind of on the fence about blind buying this, but after reading the very positive review for it here, I think I've made my decision.

Just hope it doesn't end up being another blind buy disaster like the last 80's slasher flick (Sleepaway Camp) I bought, which I absolutely hated!

I'm blind buying this too and the review has got me really excited for this release. Hopefully it will at least be on par with Final Exam which I also really enjoyed.

I noticed this right away as well. They've been doing that with a few releases lately and I don't like it. Toxic Avenger, Curtains and now this all got pushed later. (Though I'm glad the Toxic Avenger got delayed for .ca as I ended up wanting the 88 films version).
I was debating between ordering the 88 films or VS one and now that it's pushed back I'll just keep my pre-order for the 88 films disc on amazon.ca. I dont feel like paying more from a US site to get it a bit earlier and without the doc. If the doc ends up being no good then at least it was still actually a bit cheaper than the VS version I had pre-ordered anyway.
I'm keeping the VS pre-order for now though in case Amazon is confused, but I doubt it.

Edit: hm looks like the 88 films version is November not October as stated on Amazon.ca. Well which ever one gets to me first I'll just keep then. What the hell is up with the 4 different release dates? VS is Sept 4h (.com), and Nov. 4th (.ca) 88 films is Oct 3th (.ca) and Nov 17th (.co.uk). My guess is .ca is wrong for the 88 films version and delaying the VS. Tsk tisk amazon.ca, get it together.

This looks mucho excellente. Vinegar Syndrome is fast becoming one of my favorite labels. Don't care for the super obscure 70's sex comedies but give me more 80's slashers and you'll have a customer for life

Got this in the mail yesterday a week early. Diabolik has been very good to me so far. I haven't watched it yet and I'm not sure when I will since I have plans through Monday, but it's refreshing to have a positive experience compared to what I've been dealing with in Code Red.

Just done watching this for the first, it wasn't what I was expecting but it was a good little movie. The 4/5 rating on here did get my hopes up a little too much though I think.

I was surprised at the 4/5. From what I remember of this one it made it on the list as one of my personal least favourite 80s slashers films. And yes I have seen - and own - many, I'm not saying this is the worst one, just one that I personally think is lesser in the 80s slasher realm. I even like Girls Nite Out better! Maybe it's because I watched a DVD of terrible vhs rip that was detrimental to the atmosphere. Maybe I wasn't in the mood for it at the time i watched it. I just didn't like it much, but it's a 80s slasher all the same and I'm a sucker for them. And with passage of time and a beautiful print for the movie as it was meant to be seen I want to give it another chance. I can't resist any 80s slasher that receives a caring release, especially on blu! Then again I can't really resist them in general.

Only if you're a die hard slasher fan. Then again, you should've seen the film by now if you are a slasher fan. It's one of the less obscure titles of the genre.

How would you compare it to final exam? Final exam is a title that a lot of people had negative things to say about but I rather enjoyed. Same senerio here. Graduation day has it's fans but a lot of bad reviews. Just curious.
