You can ask me that - I don't mind.

Nope - I have never posted on this site under another name. I post on highdefdigest as rmslives, too, and no, I did not come here to talk shit about Blu-Ray or try to convince anyone anything about HD DVD. I understand this forum is different from the other forum I frequent, and I have ZERO desire to come here and be a pain in everyone's ass.

I mentioned my neutrality because I know people like to come to this site, become a member, and try to stir up trouble. I figure I might as well be up front and honest from the start - but like I said, I'm only here to discuss things related to Blu-Ray, because whether I am neutral or not, I do own a PS3 and do support the format.

I only had to "cash in" my Christmas and birthday (February) presents for my wife to greenlight it! But it was worth it, man - POTC: Dead Man's Chest was awesome, as was S3.

My two reasons for not going neutral are not wanting to prolong this war and risk screwing both sides and eventually having a bunch of discs for a dead format that I spent hundreds or thousands on.

1. Mama didn't raise no foo. I know quality when I sees it, and once you see it how can you accept anything less.

2. when I bought a dvd player I did not then go buy a laserdisc player because it had some movies that weren't out on dvd yet. it made no damn sense. same thing here.

3. prolonging the ''war'' that should have been over next month, but will now continue into next year.

4. I refuse to support a crappy product meant only to be an improvement over old technology. I don't want a new type of carburetor in my new car, I want fuel injection, and maybe even a cold air incuction.

5. lastly I won't buy hd dvd because.....well.....i'm not a *****.

thank you for paying attention to me.

add/edit:
it is perfectly acceptable to me that hd dvd supporters go neutral. and I would like to see more ''i used to be hd exclusive, now i'm supporting blu too. GO BLU!''
Well Laser disc was a two decade old product that never caught on when DVD came out. HD DVD came out only a few months before. Also other than extra storage capacity HD DVD and Blu-ray exacly the same. Both formats can play movies in 1080p. Both have the same stupid floating menues and worthless web extras. Well Blu-ray will have web feutures bu trust me they suck. Also they both feature losless Audio. The only difference is movie catalogs. I iniianaly chose Blu-ray for that reason alone. At the time missing out on just universial was ok but losing on top of that was to much. Thats why i went purple because I want all of my movies in hd now and I will not wait for combo players to become cheaper when i can get a hd dvd player now at a low cost.

BD has more space, higher max bitrate and protection coating to prevent damage and scratches on the disc. I was tempted to switch to HD-DVD at one point as I wanted to watch a few of thier movies, but I've chosen to stick with BD, eventually they'll come to BD.

I am aware that hd dvd only came out a few months before blu ray, but in terms of innovation its the same as a step backwards. while blu ray is truly innovative with bd java, bd live, not to mention the storage space, bitrates, piracy protection, and scratch resistance. hd dvd is essentially a huge step backwards. based on existing technology from toshiba and m$, rather than create something new hd dvd is simply a regurgitation of previously failed attempts at innovation. plus any company or group that feels the need to spin such a web of lies and misquotes obviously doesn't give a rats ass about the consumer, or the quality of their product.

add/edit:
and I wouldn't say hd dvd ''features'' lossless audio. I would say it ''can occasionally have lossless audio''. what were the numbers again on how many hd dvds have uncompressed or lossless audio? last I read it was about 25% of titles that had it. and BD has somewhere over 50% that have it. hell SM3 has lossless and uncompressed on it.

and hd people are missing out on a lot of great titles. bd supporters are only missing out on a couple.
