I finally watched this last night. Yeah, they're definitely not getting to the end of the book.
I thought the Montana trip was a nice addition, and the backstory of why Holden left is a really interesting note about his character and a good bit of storytelling. Miller's Ceres exit was well done, too. The run-in with the Martian skiff was a good concept, but the way it happened didn't feel particularly believable. The spy dude was a good idea, as he was interesting in his own right, served to show that the UN already had some pieces in play, and highlighted some differences between the main cast members. |

I guess if they stopped short of the very end of the book, that would be quite a cliffhanger, too. I could see them doing that. |

Well, OK. By the end of this episode
[Show spoiler] . Seems not unlikely that they'll finish the book.Spotted an amusing cameo. When the transport ship arrives at Eros, and Miller is seen in the terminal (when the PA is talking about the security in a foreign language) the two people who walk past the camera to screen right just before we see Miller are Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck, who together are James S.A. Correy, creators of the Expanse series. Incidentally, they had also scripted last week's episode. |

As I've mentioned before, I'm re-reading Book 1, and I was a bit surprised to note that the show swapped the order of a couple of scenes. In the Book, Fred doesn't send the Roci crew to find the asteroid, after which they go to Eros. Miller and Holden &co. meet up on Eros, find Julie, and then find out about the stealth ship hanging by the asteroid.

Can't wait for the finale. I do hope the people behind the conspiracy are revealed though! I would hate if they saved that for S2…

Yeah, they seem to be moving at a good clip in relation to the book. They'd have to include pretty much everything from the rest of book 2 to stretch beyond 2 more episodes, and the book itself already HAS a very good cliffhanger built in, so I don't think they'd need to manufacture one mid-book.
