Well "some" changes would be welcome, I agree.. But the point is to keep it as close to the original as possible. The thing we ( I ) really want is the story and gameplay of FF7 with this generations graphics and audio, as for me, that would be like playing the game over again for the first time, and make it enjoyable for us previous players, and desirable for new players as well.. Im sure not to many 12-20 year old kids now are gonna want to play a port over ps1 game that was here before they were even born, with terrible blocky graphics... But then again.... Minecraft

ANd I only say They "owe" it to us, is because its fans like me ( us ) the millions of us, who made that game popular to start with and have continued to buy games in the series.. And also people like myself who have bought it over numerous platforms and have bought not only a new copy of it in 97, but used copies since then, plus purchasing the PSN version as well..

I dont know how much it would cost to remaster this game, but I have to think with the technology of today, and them already having the story, layout, and plot completely done, it CANT be that tough to do? That being said, how much does one think it would cost to make this game remastered? I highly doubt it will exceed $50 million , which with only 1,000,000 copies sold at $49.99 it would hit...

I don't think I can buy this game again with out it being a complete remake. I've completed it so many times already, probably put in well over 600 hours all together.

I just don't think a full remake will ever come though, if it ever did, I don't think it would live up to the perfection of the original.

Maybe you guys could help me with something...

I've had an ongoing debate with my friend since FF7 came out in 1997. He says that Cloud and Aeris "got together" while riding the ferris wheel because the camera cut away and there was the ding of a bell signifying sex. I say that Aeris and Cloud never went that far. Is it the stupidest debate of all time? Absolutely. Do I still want to win it? Desperately.

Holy cow... and I thought the 120ish hours I put into it was hardcore.

I've got 600+ hours on that game, easy. The first two times me and my old roommate played thru it was 120 hours the first time and 85 hours the second. Leveling up when you don't have to and traveling the entire map, earnibg gold chocobos, figuring out how to beat emerald and ruby weapon all took insane amounts of time.

that, on top of learning all the materia pairings, learning all enemy skills, getting all level 4 Limit Breaks on all characters, getting everything at the Gold Saucer, including everything in the battle arena and chocobo racing. It was never ending especially the first couple times we went through it without a strategy guide, and somehow someway it never got boring, but I doubt that would be the case this time, but it would be nice to see a nice visual upgrade

Hate to say it but I'll get it if it has a platinum trophy. There's no way I'm not going for it again if there's a plat challenge to be had. I really need to play it again anyway. Haven't played FFVII since I beat it long ago just after it's original release.

No new news on when this will be out?

I never owned the original Playstation so it might be shocking to some but I never played VII.

I guess that's a good thing since so many are disappointed it apparently won't be remastered. I just want to enjoy the game as is for the first time. Been ages since I've played a true or traditional RPG.

From what SE has said, this game is just a port of the PC release from last year game...

Only PC difference was some edge smoothing going for the character models during the fighting and cloud saves to Square-Enix servers. Besides that it is the same ps1 game that was available on the PSN for the vita and ps3.

I hope they add more to it but I wouldn't hold out much hope there.

I read somewhere a while back that the trophy list would be similar to the PC achievements and you have to get all character's level 4 limit breaks and master all material. Can't open game-related links at work so can't find a link with the achievement list

but, let me google that for you

Square's ports are usually terribly optimized, so don't be surprised if this release plays like shit lol

A "verified" insider on GAF just has confirmed TLG for end of 2015, -and- that S-E is currently working on a FF 7 -remake- (not port), for 2017, which would be announced this E3.

Be mindful that a "verified" insider on GAf is verified to be in a position where knowing would be -possible-, not that the information is itself necessarily accurate.

If (and that'sa massive IF) true, and we also get Horizon, this E3 will go down in the annals of the great ones imo after a superlative Bethesda presser yesterday (or so I thought).
