Where are they getting that from? I can't find anything else about this.

No thread for Toxie III yet, but finally got it from Amazon. And.....

The DVD (from the previous releases) is directors cut, but the Blu-Ray is not. The opening video store scene is heavily edited.

Sigh

As was the 88 Films Blu its transfer came from. Either the director's cut was originally produced in SD, or Troma was being lazy with providing proper elements to 88.

Well, that sucks... guess I'll be hanging on to my DVD.

Did the corrected discs for part II come out? haven't seen any reviews on them.

People need to really harp on Lloyd for screwing Toxie III up on blu-ray. Even more so than the Toxie II mastering error (which managed to get fixed as far as I know).

That crap is unacceptable.

Has anyone received the fixed version of Toxie 2? Is it comparable PQ wise to 88 films? The first film was...

I haven't heard of anyone actually getting a fixed copy of part 2.

I'll be asking Troma (Lloyd himself if he's there) about these releases in 1 week at Monster Mania. I'll report back with any info I get.

The movie was shot on film so it is just Troma being cheap. They paid for an HD transfer, but just assumed that everything was okay. When people started complaining about the 88 Films release, Troma realized that they had messed up by getting the wrong version transferred. Lloyd said a bunch of crap on Twitter about the cut version being his NEW Director's cut and eventually people stopped talking about it. When Troma announced Toxic 3 for release here, everyone hoped and prayed that we would get the right version. We didn't.

Troma is not going to pay for another HD transfer. It would be cost prohibitive for them to do so. We will have to live with what we got.

He is busy making those intro's to each blu that have nothing to do with the film.

I mean, the original DVD release for Toxie 2 had Lloyd on the commentary going, "Wait a minute... THIS ISN'T THE UNCUT VERSION!" Yet they went ahead and released it that way. That shows you right there how little they prepare, organize, and care.

I've been out of the loop regarding this, but has there been any update on whether new, better quality copies of Part II available?

I bought this title on release day but haven't opened it yet, just in case there is some kind of exchange program or something...

Is there a way to tell the corrected from the original version, besides picture quality? Like it being labeled as such or having a different UPC code, etc.?

I just checked the picture, and pressed the display button on my BD player during playback and it said 1080p. Nothing on the box says it's corrected but it is.

Mine said it was the remastered version on the white sticker on the top (the one that gets peeled off).

So we've established that the Troma Toxic Avenger 2 Blus are in 1080p now, and they look OK
too? (Update: I bought it and it looks good. A little dark in places, but way better than it's ever looked. Way worth $15..

Hey guys, I was wondering where you got your copies from. I'm thinking about making an order on deepdiscount but am not sure if they'll have the corrected copies or not. Thank you for the help.
