£10 was bad enough for free postage but £20 is a joke

Actually it's not just Amazon I don't like paying for delivery for anything. If you're giving your money to an online retailer for an item I think it's there duty to get it to you.

Well considering Base.com got a my Apollo 13 pre-order to me on Friday, before its Monday release, I guess I'll pre-order from there from now on. Free delivery from both their site and Rakuten store

With Amazon preorders, for me the best case scenario is usually on Wednesday the week of release.

I put in a preorder at First Class and it says delivery is free, I put in an order at Super Saver and it charges me for delivery...

Base aren't always great. In fact I've had problems with almost every order I've made with them.

Amazon preorders with free delivery rarely even get posted until day of release.

My pre-order of The Blob arrived today but that was on Prime.
It's a shame Amazon have added the instant video to Prime as it means the price is now even less attractive than before and you can't go for the next day delivery on its own

Never used Base for pre-orders mainly because they are so slow usually and take days to post items even when they are in stock.
Only use Base as a last resort these days

My preorders of 1941 and Commando Director's cut both came today with free delivery.

I use free prime for a month, runs out. set up a new email, rejoin Amazon, sign up to prime, cancel a second later , Keep spending. Everyone is happy. Been doing that for about a year on and off.

Yeah, I know it's a Bank Holiday week but I'm still waiting for Birdman to turn up on Super Saver Delivery. It's bad service for the sake of trying to get me to pay an extra £80 a year and I'm not having it.

Someone needs to give Amazon a kick up the backside. They can't be touched overall but there is a window for a better service dedicated to Blu-ray/DVD. We had plenty of them not so long ago.

Ironically, Zavvi could be that company. They've got everything in place apart from the satisfactory customer service.

Their packaging for digipacks is a killer, though.

Amazon.com have just increased shipping costs for UK buyers.
Suggest we discuss in the thread I have started in the retailer subform

Weird, maybe even they don't know what's going on.

I've only used Amazon USA a few times. usually I would find the USA release on Amazon UK marketplace and compare. thing is, searching for upcoming USA releases on UKs marketplace now a little quirky, if not impossible, until release date occurs. still often better prices.

I spoke to Amazon and their response was pure nonsense but they gave me free first class delivery on that order so I won't complain.

It really is. You can't search by distributor anymore as they seem to have stripped that info from imports annoyingly.

Marketplace sellers cannot list any titles whether that be UK or US until release date.
Quite often I will see US titles already available from other retailers early not listed from sellers on Amazon because its prior to release date
