To be fair universal isn't exactly known for superior transfers either unless it's one of their premium movies (sometimes not even the then). I will own both releases and put them in a two disc case with screams original theatrical artwork as the cover art. subtitles are key though.

They obviously don't, since they neglected to get subs for several of the Halloween releases. I can go online and download sub tracks for those films for free, so they should've used resources to license them as well. It's just cheapness on their part, especially when bargain bin companies like Mill Creek can afford sub tracks in some cases. |

If they spent the time on the Producers's cut of Resurrection and box art, and including all the versions (which meant licensing deals with several companies), then they shouldn't be so cheap as to discriminate against the hard of hearing who — if they bought the set — wouldn't be able to watch parts 2 or 3. It's not a moral victory that they got 8 our of 10 right, it's that they got 2 wrong and chose not to fix it. |

I was fascinated to kind of see that art evolve over time when I was looking through images today.
Halloween II One Sheet: ![]() Halloween II Goodtimes VHS, takes the Skullkin and adds the glowing eyes and beams: ![]() Halloween III Goodtimes DVD, reuses glowing beaming Skullkin, beams changed a little: ![]() Halloween III Universal BD, reuses GT DVD art except changes font to match Universal HII BD, beams changed a little again: ![]() I was never a fan of the GT Halloween films art, but find it kind of charming that these clunky design aesthetics linger on now some twenty years later. Nice to see them using a BD-50 disc. Not sure if that's the norm with Universal catalog release, but considering this is bsrebonrs, they could have definitely put it on a BD-25 disc. Hopefully they do make the most of that extra space when encoding.

Same here. Looking forward to the reviews and I think/hope this will be the best the movie has looked on home video so far. By how much is the question though.

Given what seems to be Universal's "new" stance on creating the best possible transfers, my expectations for this transfer are probably too high. *fingers crossed*
If only that new stance had been put in place before the new Back to the Future set was announced. |

I'm such a sucker for this movie...if it's even remotelybetter, I'm sure I'll jump again.
But yeah, it'd be awesome if Universal had an unmolested, grain-rich master lying around. |

It will most likely be better PQ than the SF release.
