Well if they count it as a 5 day weekend, it has a shot.

They don't and it won't. JW is done breaking week records.

I think JW reaches it maximum this weekend. It's either Terminator Genisys or Magic Mike 2 at the #1 spot this weekend.

Wondering how high it can get, betting if it gets to $650 million+ domestically, it'll finish in the top 3 all-time, behind Titanic and Avatar. James Cameron can breathe a sigh of relief.

Another $200 million domestically in 6 weeks with the new movies coming out and demand decreasing might be asking for a bit much. Really need a strong week 3 and 4th weekend to get it done.

It will bet The Avengers and has a nice shot at #2 all time domestic.

Magic Mike and Terminator will both underperform.

Magic Mike's going to end up number one. It's been month since Pitch Perfect, and women are going to come out in droves for it.

Terminator has a shot at finishing behind JW and Inside Out this weekend.

Deadline has it too close to call:

Quote:
The two holdovers — Universal’s Jurassic World and Disney/Pixar’s Inside Out — as well as the two wide entries — Paramount’s Terminator Genisys and Warner Bros.’ Magic Mike XXL — are expected to be in a stacked race, each making $45M-$50M. Their three-day hauls are also too tight to call, each making $27M-$30M.

I would be stunned if 4 films pulled down that much, especially since 2 are hold-overs, even with a an extra day to pad the weekend. Be quite an achievement though and a slap in the face to all the studio executives who've been complaining that nobody goes to the theatre anymore.

I still think it's MM.

MM may be front loaded when it drops, so it's certainly possible that it doesn't take the 3 day weekend. I think it will take the 5 day weekend easy though. That's the only way I see it losing the 3 day weekend. TG will be lucky to be #3.

At this point Inside Out will never reach the #1 spot.

I think it's done exceptionally well this summer considering it's going up against Jurassic World and a few other movies that have done all right. Its run will pretty much end once Minions comes out though.
