Aladdin's my favorite Disney movie, I like Guy Ritchie, and the two of those things going together sounds too weird for me to not wanna see it.

If they're going with all Middle Eastern or Indian actors, Salman Khan would be a great Genie. But I have a feeling Genie will be CGI for some reason, with some famous new voice.

Since I loved the live action Cinderella & Jungle Book, and love what I've seen so far of Beauty and the Beast, I'll wait and see how this turns out. Not going to write the whole thing off before any footage is released.

While I find 'Beauty and the Beast' the best Disney Classic, 'Aladdin' is my favorite one. This is going to be tricky.

The only reason I would watch this is if they kept the Iago character, and Gilbert Gottfried returned to voice him. They can't replace Robin Williams' Genie in my mind, and Iago is another part of my childhood I don't care to see messed with.

They will have to re-invent the Genie, giving him a slightly different vibe and an update of all the impressions.

Robin Williams did the greatest job imaginable on this. But it was also 100% Robin Williams. They just need another actor with a very creative mind, lots of voices and master at improvisation to be his own version of the blue guy. Not one that imitates the original. That way, I believe it can work.

Now, if they dare to introduce Jenny McCarthy as the solution, I'll ... I'll ... Will have a minor rant in my head several times and accept the fact I can't change it. Dunno, somehow I have the feeling they would consider that to fix the "Who's going to be Robin Williams!?" problem.

I honestly could see Robert Downey, Jr in the role. I'd prefer him over Will Smith.

I thought they'd go for The Rock but I like the Will Smith idea. I assume Genie will be CG or mo-cap anyway.
