Ike is one thing. The man was notoriously tight with pennies. He actually almost cost the MCU RDJ prior to Civil War, nearly kiboshing the deal over the size of the payday. Not the first time that's happened. If this keeps our current casts around longer, I say yay.

The committee is a bit harder to say. I do blame them for inconsistent tones in a few movies, chief among them IM 2 and 3 and Thor 2. I sometimes think the Marvels are good movie with great potential that is not always tapped. Too many chefs can muck the soup, maybe it's time to clear the kitchen.

Well, the Russos are already set for "Infinity War", and there's still sequels for "Thor" and "Guardians", too. We'll know more about "Dr. Strange" over the next 6 months, plus there's the TV shows which have been going well.

This is the committee that should be overseeing the MCU.

Feige is the guy who let Shane Black butcher Mandarin so I'm not going to be jumping for joy now that he is "fully" in control. I don't expect to see the quality of the films change but I'm sure the same people who praise this decision will notice the difference in quality and blindly support it.
I've been saying what's wrong with Marvel for years and I'm not the only one, but hey everyone apparently drinks the Kool-Aid

If the Illuminati ever becomes a thing in the MCU, I will die of happiness.

From what I've heard, Feige went to Iger and asked for these changes, and Iger acquiesced. The way the OP article is written, it makes it look like Disney forced all these changes, when Iger was trying to keep Kevin happy.

Is there a source for this yet? It sounds reasonable, because when Alan Horn got mentioned, my first thought was "Who?" I was under the impression Feige reported directly to Iger.

http://collider.com/captain-america-...t-quit-marvel/

Quote:
And now, a few days later, we know the straw that broke the camel’s back as far as Feige’s move is concerned. Per THR, as the budget on Captain America: Civil War—a film that has a massive ensemble cast and is basically another Avengers movie—unsurprisingly ballooned, Perlmutter and the Creative Committee grew unhappy, wanting Feige to “scale it down.” Feige, having had enough of this BS after spearheading the rise of one of the most popular and successful movie brands in history, subsequently “contemplated leaving Marvel” and expressed his dissatisfaction to Disney CEO Bob Iger, who then approved the restructuring that moves Feige away from Perlmutter’s purview, free to now run Marvel Studios under Alan Horn.
The article as a whole is a good read, but that sums it up.

So it was very much Feige was unhappy with his work environment (Perlmutter and the Committee); Feige goes to Bob Iger; Iger, being the wise man that he is, wants to keep Feige happy and puts him directly under Alan Horn, (away from Perlmutter and the Committee); Feige now reports to Horn, not Perlmutter, and that is very good.

Sounds like a good move, but time will tell how it affects the MCU.

I agree. I'd like to see Phase 3 go deeper movie wise.
