I think the story is known more or less, but it's aged. The same way my generation (late 30's/40's) perceives the assassination of JFK as a story we were told about as kids but feels beyond our age group, kids who are 5-10 will one day look at 9/11. Just a piece of history from beyond their time. Same (on a much lesser scale of course) for the Walk; i do remember hearing about it years back but it was just "u know one time a guy walked across the towers" and was never amazingly illustrated and told the way this film shared the story.
