I am hoping that I will be able to sign up for one month, binge the entire season, and then cancel. Or I will just wait for a blu-ray release.

I might just do that.

Most people will just Google the episode they want to see and find a "no strings" source to stream it from.

I would not mind if they brought Manny Coto or the Reeves-Stevenss back as part of the writing team on the new series, along with some new blood.

It would also be nice if they had Roxann Dawson and Jonathan Frakes direct a couple of the episodes.

Loved Dead Like Me and Pushing Daisies (I hope the execs that cancelled them have their own room in hell together) but I will passing on this. Huge TOS fan but just haven't liked anything outside that series and it's six films. Plus I don't need to pay for another streaming service.

You'll find that it's the "cool kid" thing to dismiss Voyager - but it was just like TNG in many ways (which was actually a criticism lobbed at it at the time, silly as it seems now as more TNG-like was exactly what was needed after "sit and wait" DS9) - the first couple of seasons were shaky, but once they found their groove - very entertaining television.

In fact, even folks who worked on all the shows admit now that some of the best episodic trek happened on VOY during the later years. TNG ended prematurely, and there was still a lot to mine and they went beyond in quite a few ways. You'll find the biggest criticisms were of Janeway, but when you read them now they really sound like pubescent and just-post-pubescent boys who didn't understand females.

I think my biggest complaint would be the characters. A lot of them are one-dimensional and dull. Seven of Nine, the Doctor, and Janeway are by far my favorites. I liked Chakotay in the beginning but I feel the writers really abandoned the character somewhere in the fifth season as I can't even remember the last time he had an episode. I liked Tuvok as well but, again, the show seems resistant to flesh him out as anything other than your typical Vulcan.

Well that definitely excites me, Star Trek deserves another great show after the sudden death of Enterprise.

Bryan Fuller is the show runner? Seriously? That's a CATCH! Seems like they're actually taking this seriously, and not treating it like some garbage cash grab just for the sake of it. I'm down then!

They need to go ahead and just make this a Weekly TV series and not a web series..

It could be a holodeck sitcom filmed in front of a live audience.

Bryan Fuller AND Nicholas Meyer!

This is just getting better and better. I have high hopes for this now. Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan is my favourite film (he directed), with Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (he co-wrote the screenplay) and Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (he directed). Some of the best moments in Star Trek, arguably the best.

As long as the series is set after TNG/Voyager, then I'm all in.

If they continue the timeline after voyager it would be cool if they brought Ashley Judd back in some sort of command role, although she may be busy with Twin Peaks

I'm all for anything that gets us more Ashley Judd. Maybe they could even snag Wil Wheaton between BBT appearances.

Haven't been following this am excited to see Star Trek back on the small screen tho. Looking at the posts here sounds like it might be a good one. Kind of funny since have been watching the original series lately.

I'm getting more and more excited for this series. Any news on its setting? Please be set past Voyager in the prime universe...

I'm expecting an appearance from Ambassador Picard one of these days too.
