I wouldn't bet the farm on any part of the anime TV series ever seeing Blu-ray, especially the pre-HD episodes. The cel-animated episodes COULD conceivably be re-telecined with HD scans from the (probably 16mm) film, and the episodes could be re-synced to the English audio (they could even undo some of the edits!) but that's never going to happen. We're talking about hundreds of episodes of a children's anime, and they probably don't have the original film anymore. If Case Closed can't get a proper HD remaster, neither can Pokemon.

I know the first one is pretty awful, but the third one is legitimately good and is very nostalgic for me. I might pick up the DVD version of Pokemon: The Movie 3.

I loved and still love the third Pokemon movie. The nostalgia simply overflows from me when I even think about first getting the movie on VHS in 2001, feels like so long ago.

I love all 3 of them, the 3rd one is definitely the best but all 3 have something that make them great individually. I remember going to see the first one in the theater and i was 15 at the time and all these little kids running around. I felt so completely out of place.

I don't know about sound, but these should be in their native 1.78:1 ratios with no cropping.

Keeping with the Australian Blu-ray which I expect to be identical.. no extra features or Pikachu shorts. |

That's even better. Can't wait for their release, 2.0 audio or not. I'd hope for at least 5.1 DD but - I don't think any release of these movies has that, do they? Took this comment from a user review on the Australian blurays. Ooooh...if it has this codec...the movie is going to sound incredible. Better than my crappy DivX rip. Quote:

I'm just assuming it will be identical to the Australian release because of how close they were released and given that the packaging is the same steelbook type. |
