I hope it doesn't end up being a 'buy this release for exclusive features on DMA' that only amounts to maybe 5 minutes of content. I want all disc-based extras, and for Disney to not skimp like they've been doing with many of their releases.

There are several scenes from the trailers that are not in the movie. There are also figures made that have less than one second of screen time. I bet we get a director's cut of the film as well that adds a lot of the cut footage back in, probably similar to the Lord of the Rings Extended Editions. Plus that would get people to buy it twice.

I agree. I want a BD release with the most disc-based extras possible. I've noticed for recent Disney releases, Target has had extra content versus other sellers like BB and Amazon.

Disney doesn't like director's cuts. Everyone assumed Avengers 2 would get one, but no dice. Especially with franchises I don't think they want alternate canons and whatnot. I bet we just get deleted scenes (and not many).

Sad, this will probably be the only Star Wars blu-ray I'll own, until EP VIII, unless we actually ever get GOUT remastered blus.

Do not post anything plot-related about the movie outside of that thread, please.

I loved watching this film last night without having seen any spoilers or any info, aside from the trailers. I want for everyone to have that same joy.
That member who posted the spoiler in this thread totally ruined my experience at the theater today.

I wouldn't bank on a director's cut. Certain cuts might have been made with the script of VIII in mind.

I hear ya. I'm not a big Star Wars fan but some butthole randomly posted a BIG ASS spoiler in a thread I was skimming on another site.

I haven't seen the movie and may just wait for the Blu-ray now before I see it.

I'll most likely get the 2D release and put it into my existing Complete Saga boxset, removing the 3 special features disc's placing into something else.

This is why you are best avoiding all related threads and forums close to release. I was very careful with what I visited the days prior to seeing the movie yesterday.

It wasn't even about Star Wars it was about John Wick 2 or something I can't even remember. I just happened to be randomly scrolling down half paying attention and boom there is was. Why do people do that? Just like chumps that like to post Game of Thrones spoilers everywhere for no reason.

They just released Age of Ultron in 3D. I'm not sure why this wouldn't be.

Muppets Most Wanted got a "Unnecessarily Extended Cut" with many extended or alternate versions of several scenes (which I believe is only available on the NA BD and not on the international BD releases nor digital).

However, producing a extended cut to a $50 million film vs a $200 million film (with much more visual effects) is a lot different, and I wouldn't expect one.

I suppose the best case scenario is that any deleted footage is completed and presented as bonus features.
