Yes but normally it's a new box, this is a lot of new stuff and a new encode

It also sounds like it is a different cut of the film and I bet that this version is going to go the way of silent films where there are no voices and the music will change depending on what is happening on screen.

Miller wouldn't just say that it is preferred version if all he did was turn it into B&W... at least I hope he wouldn't.

I'm interested in this. I wouldn't mind double dipping for this version. It was a fantastic film and well deserving of the Oscar nomination it received. Maybe we can get a Mad Max In B&W release where we have Fury Road and Road Warrior in one release since those were the films Miller would've wanted. Doubtful, but who knows?

Walmart during BF weekend. There was a glitch and if the normal 2D had a price drop, the 3D also got one.

2 price ranges: 6.96 and 9.96. You gotta visit the Deals thread more, especially during the week of Black Friday.

Someone on this forum catched the glitch and everyone jumped on the bandwagon looking for the titles at their walmart.

"The best version of 'Road Warrior' was what we called a 'slash dupe,' a cheap, black-and-white version of the movie for the composer. Something about it seemed more authentic and elemental. So I asked Eric Whipp, the ['Fury Road'] colorist, 'Can I see some scenes in black and white with quite a bit of contrast?' They looked great. So I said to the guys at Warners, 'Can we put a black-and-white version on the DVD?' There wasn't enough room. [It'll end up] on another version with commentary and other features," he told the Los Angeles Times.
He's upping the contrast and will probably tweak a few things visually, so it won't simply be a desaturated MM:FR as some have been posting to YouTube. Personally I'm interested to see the end product.

It's been said in the first post's quote but for those who missed it:

The best version of 'Road Warrior' was what we called a 'slash dupe,' a cheap, black-and-white version of the movie for the composer.

So I asked Eric Whipp, the ['Fury Road'] colorist, 'Can I see some scenes in black and white with quite a bit of contrast?' They looked great

So the eventual Miller alternate version will not simply just be the film with the colors desaturated. Nor will turning down the color on your TV achieve the same effect.

Not true. Said what I didn't like. Made a joke at the end. And it was nonsensical? We shall disagree on your disagreement.

Any time you copy what you did before with Mad Max back in the 80's it's bad. It shows a lack of ideas.

Geez, give some criticism and make a joke and you get pummeled. Remind me to never criticize a bad movie that someone else likes again. Not lonely. Happily not lonely. Still doesn't change my view of the movie.

Winning an Oscar doesn't really mean a movie is good. From Greatest Show on Earth to Crash, there is a long tradition of awarding arguably middling movies.

My goodness! Some people get so particular about their movies. Tell them their favorite movie isn't that good and they take it so personally. It's just a movie! We can all have our own opinions! Feel free to ignore me as I give my opinion. Doesn't make me wrong. I haven't blocked a single person on here. Even if I disagree, I always want to hear others views. Sometimes I get a whole new perspective on something from reading other's views. But geez, relax! It's just a movie!

I don't want to speak for Geoff, but I think it's less about him disagreeing with your opinions and has more to do with the annoying way you post. Take tonight for example: You could have replied to everyone in one post, but instead you posted four times (three of them in a row) and arguably posted nothing of substance.

I replied to individual posts, they just happened to appear in a row. Usually my posts are questions or short comments. The only movie I ever seriously criticized was this one. Honestly, I want others to tell me why I'm wrong about this movie. I saw this movie as poorly acted and a two hour car chase with amazing stunt work. If this movie as good, with examples, please show me why. Criticizing the criticizer doesn't do that. What did I miss? Still won't change my view that some people just hate being told you disagree with them. Not everyone has to post they like a movie. I grew up with the originals and at the time, liked them. Today, not as much. But this one I couldn't get into at all.

Exactly. It's nothing to do with opinions and everything do with abrasive, obnoxious posts which have as much charm as a rattlesnake. I'm not saying you can't do that mr chmps, you carry on doing whatever the hell you like, but that doesn't mean I have to read it.
