Funny thing is, I haven't even got around to checking the 1st replacement yet to see if I could tell what was wrong with it.

Back to Inside Men, anyone know if it's A locked or region free? Nova's site says all, kimchi say A.
Sorry I missed this post earlier. Yes, it's region free.

I only just got my JSA replacement the other day and had a bit of hassle getting it. I asked Nova back when it was first announced and they said they'd bundle with my next order. I then ordered 'Assassination' from them a few weeks back and even though I added a note to my order AND I emailed them and they confirmed they would send it, it was never in the package. I then requested they send it separately as I only order sporadically from Korea due to the high prices. Credit due, they did send me the disc so even though it's been a bt of a hassle they have sorted it.

Now though, I'm wondering what I've actually got, if there are now 3 discs out there of JSA? Any difference on the text/codes on the disc underside?
Unfortunately I don't have access to the first replacement disc at the moment (lent it to a friend and never got it back). Since you possibly just received the "first" replacement disc, can you tell me what's on the underside and I can compare to the "second" one?

My replacement has the following:

200209 NBBD-0067V2-0 PRESSED IN TAIWAN
200210 NBBD-0067V2-1 PRESSED IN TAIWAN

IFPI LW84 (could be 64 but looks like an 8 to me)

Looks like the same codes.

Btw, I went ahead and contacted NM to clarify the differences between the first recall disc and the second most recent one & NM customer service told me that yes, this second recall disc is not the same as the one announced last November but that it also corrects the audio sync issue. NM found that the first one didn't fix it 100%, while this second one does. NM noted that the differences are very minor between the two discs. I'm guessing this second one was issued to address the complaints of the "perfectionists" & most viewers wouldn't noticed the difference anyway.

I'm still puzzled as to the response they sent logboy about the second disc not being ready until the end of the month?

I can't make head or tail what the disc is for from the Google translation, but it does mention that the disc will be ready in June and more information will be provided when it's ready.
yeah, I'm just going to wait for any further updates on their FB. I find it telling that the "first recall" was in English as well as Hangul while this second recall is only in Hangul. The first was an audio sync issue while this one involves the audio effects processing. NM has stated that they were unable to get Dolby ATMOS audio implemented, so interested to find out what improvements in the 5.1 sound they will make this time around.

Hopefully, logboy will receive his disc soon and he can report on any differences with this second recall.

i'm waiting on it like everyone else, and am unlikely to do any kind of comparison. i haven't watched the original disc, and i'm standing my ground on not paying to cover postage for another replacement, so may send back my unopened lenticular set in protest - for a refund - considering how badly it's been handled.

I can't say I blame you if you return the JSA blu ray. NM certainly botched the recall especially with their policy of charging a shipping fee for it. I know NM relented after receiving complaints about it but I mentioned it was fishy that they posted the notice about the second JSA recall in Korean only. It's much cheaper shipping out replacements discs domestically than internationally.

it didn't help that they charged $12 (?) for the first replacement and sent it in a big box - a padded envelope would have done. i'd have paid $5 quite happily, but $12 for a correction that's incorrect is not on.

The whole thing is a complete mess. These things are not cheap either and while I like to support Korean films and feel the package is worth the extra cost, it's not so much when you're having to chase up a corrected disc.

Has anybody that doesn't speak Korean noticed the audio sync issues?

I didn't and that's why I never felt the need to get the 2nd disc. I know some other English speakers that didn't notice the problem either.

problem still remains that they're asking new prices for faulty goods, and if anyone should eventually choose to sell their disc on you'd have a hard time explaining it as faulty when other copies have had the fault corrected. it's principal mostly - whether in return for a premium price on the product or any initial retail price. most companies stick to that idea, as it's a sure fire way to create ill will, of course.

contacted nova media again yesterday, was asked if i planned on making another order soon (so they could presumably place the 2nd JSA disc in it) but i stated once again i had never ordered from them before, and probably wouldn't again - i have stood my ground and requested the 2nd JSA replacement be sent at their expense, or i would return the (unopened) original purchase and 1st disc to them for a full refund. i used google translate to make my short sentences into korean text too. seems they accept my expectation and have already issued a shipping notice for the 2nd disc, as well as sending an email saying they would send it, also. as the change / error is minor, i will be looking to see the code on the disc when it arrives, just in case they've sent something incorrect / already received.

Watched this last night. Not as good as the unjust but pretty good. I didn't quite buy the 'plan' unveiled at the end. It didn't really correspond with what went before.

At the end, Ahn, or maybe the other guy, says 'let's have a Maldives in the mojito' and the other guy says 'where's Mojito? Pretty funny if this joke was intentional.

Thanks for the update logboy. I contacted NM to send me this V3 replacement with my next order. I was going to place an order for SHAMELESS digipak and also maybe SADO too with my accrued bonus points anyway.

Thanks.

So now I've got to chase up another disc. This whole thing has been a nightmare, wish I never bothered now.

Thanks for the heads-up! Wasn't aware that Shameless and SADO were available. Ordered!

I'm going to hold off ordering anything from NM until they sort out their homepage/server issues. I got a email from them yesterday stating their "old" website will be no longer be accessible between July 18th 14:00 to July 19th 14:00AM (Korea Time, UTC+9) while they update their website. In the interim, you can still check your order history at this temporary site which will be up soon.

Emailed Nova ysterday but they're being a right pain. Telling me I already have the ''final'' replacement even though I told them it's V2 and not V3.
