in no order, except ratatouille, which is outstanding:
RATATOUILLE
Spiderman 1 and 2 (surprisingly good)
RV
The Tudors
Finding Neverland
Pirates 1-3
Harry Potter 1-5
Pan's Labyrinth (the step-father is sooo evil)

I have about 50 BDs and agree with many of the picks above. However, when I sat back and thought of a movie I watched last year that had a nice story and that made a deep impression on me I came up with this title - Reign Over Me.

I'd probably say in no particular order:

Apocalypto
Kingdom of Heaven
Reign over Me
Blood Diamond
The Departed
The Prestige
The Terminator
The Corpse Bride

Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head but there are definately others even in just my collection.

To be honest, on story front the HD DVD titles rocks.

1) Children of Men
2) The Pianist
3) Bourne [Best Trilogy available on HDM. PERIOD]

My story wise Blu-ray picks though some of them don't have critical acclaims.

1) Prestige
2) The Departed
3) Spiderman-2
4) Black Hawk Down
5) The Rock
6) Blood Diamond
7) Air Force One

...Good movie, really good movie, but I'm glad they put the quote "Best Western since Unforgiven" on the cover, since I'm still convinced very few can hold a candle to THAT western.

I don't understand how some people can watch a certain movie many times within a short period of time and not get bored of it. Personally, a movie gets pretty boring after watching it the second time because you would know everything that happen already and it's still fresh on your mind. At least wait a year or 2 until you watch it again. That happen to me when I tried watching Transformer a third time within 5 month of watching it, I couldn't get into it and just stop watching it 20 mins into the movie. I gotta give props to those people who can endure watching it so many time. lol

I watch a movie several times from several perspectives... acting, cinematography, dialogue, lighting... I always see or hear little things I didn't before hand.

Hey Matt, you probably know this but Bruce Lee didn't invent 'Nunchucks'. The proper name is Nunchaku and they were originally used to flail rice during harvest.

This depends on whether you are watching movies or films. Movies may get boring after the first visit because they often rely on plot twists and surprises (anticipation mixed with uncertainty) to carry it. However, with a film the artistry can carry the picture long after the plot ceases to amaze. These are well worth seeing over because you often see more in the films with subsequent viewings. The films have "depth".

Storywise I'd have to say (Blu-ray):

Pan's Labyrinth
Blade Runner
Sunshine

...in no particular order. I'm a guy's guy, and I enjoy a good rollercoaster ride of a movie with plenty of action, special effects and a thin plot as much as the next dude (Live Free or Die Hard anyone?), but I also like movies that have sort of a deeper philosophical meaning. Generally speaking, films where nothing is really clearly spelled out for you, is open for interpretation, and you continue to think about and debate it long after the credits roll. Taken as a whole, I also enjoyed the PoTC trilogy. They're good movies on their own, but when you consider how the tale is spun from beginning to end, it really is a great story altogether IMO.

Goodfellas because I just loved the story and the movie. Since I grew up with that movie I'm going to skip that one. If I had to choose a Blu-ray movie with a good storyline. I've got 3. Sometimes I'm a sucker for heart felt movies.

You must go to one of those high falootin up-scaled malls. The ones where I live are pretty scary. I really enjoyed The Fugative, and The Descent for story content.
