They often want it to be a big deal, so wait until they have something really worth showing, but other times just create a title teaser trailer or something to hint that a game's in development.

You may be right Havok as Rockstar has their own ways of doing things, though Bethesda has changed their view of E3 as a chance to showcase their games now (Fallout 4, Doom, etc), so maybe Rockstar will join the big show of E3.

Personally I hope they announce the first RDR as being remastered AND then confirm RDR2.

I do like the idea of it being a prequel as the first game had a strong since of closure and "end of an era" feel.

However, if this game gets remastered, Take 2 would have a very remaster-heavy press conference since the (all but confirmed) Bioshock trilogy is also likely coming soon.

I dont even see why that would need to be featured in a press conference. I really hope MS or Sony dont waste time on that

It should get mentioned, but don't let it be a main selling point.

Mention it like the way Dishonored Definitive Edition was.

This will obviously be announced at Bethesda's conference but I predict this game also gets conference time with MS and they will announce 360 backwards compatibility with the first Redemption.

From gaf:

It could be nothing or something but a ex-Rockstar employee who was a senior artist at Rockstar London has some interesting artwork on her site:
Artist's Site (Scroll down for the Western Concept)

Her linkedin profile shows she was with Rockstar from 2010 to 2014 before leaving to work for Deep Silver Dambuster Studios and worked on Homefront: The Revolution. However she's doesn't list working on either Red Dead Redemption or a follow up, obviously, but she's never listed working on a Western game too and some of the art looks like studies for characters and outfits for a possible Western project. There was a solid rumor that one of the characters in the game was Half White/Half Native American which the concept art could be showing.

Either way I just though it was worth sharing and talking about especially with the rumors and speculation surrounding Rockstar, Red Dead and E3.

Nice art work, thanks. That reminds me of RDR Undead Nightmare. That is still one of my favorite DLCs I've seen in a game since it let's you explore the whole map, not just a tiny section as some games would do.

Rockstar San Diego has been quite since Midnight Club Los Angeles on the PS3, and before that, Red Dead Redemption (with the help of North, etc).

Even if E3 comes and goes with a sequel not announced, I still think something is in the works.

I remember enjoying the first one plenty. I bought the GoTY edition with all the DLC for like 9.99 at one point, still haven't opened that. I believe I got pretty far in it something like 30% and as with most of these open world games other than Fallout, I just slowly resorted to messing around and forgetting about it.

Totally forgot about a new Red Dead Redemption 2 or remaster of RDR for PS4 at E3 2016, and forgot Take 2 was at the show. I'm looking forward to a new RDR.

Was there any news? I couldn't find it.

I know. I told them a couple of times, but they are all carried away. Red Dead: Resurrection or Reflection or Revenge or Resentment or Redux, or something.

None whatsoever. The RDR Reddit was on fire during E3. A whole lot of speculations, rumors and trolling, but nothing real from any credible source. Nothing. At all.

Take 2's "We'll be at E3 in a BIG way" bullshit was geared toward Mafia 3. I'm sure it'll be a decent game, but both Take 2 and Rockstar are well aware of the universal desire for another Red Dead. Hopefully we'll hear something from Rockstar soon. Something other than GTA Online, GTA Online and more GTA Online.

At this point, it's more irritating than anything else. Even if we don't get a Remastered / Remade Red Dead Redemption, it would be great to at least get backward compatibility for the title on XBone while we wait for a new Red Dead. But alas, despite the big whoop a month or two ago, even that doesn't seem to be happening. Sad.

Look, if Bethesda made a Skyrim remaster and that game was phenomenally huge AND R* have already proved they can do one with GTA V, then nothing is really stopping them from it. My money says they're working on it quietly and also the sequel. They'll announce and release both closer together. Maximizes interest and profit.
