While I'm excited about this release, this is the 4th time I've bought this movie on DVD/Blu-ray. -_-

Funny, I was just saying yesterday that I hope we heard about Child's Play coming soon, unfortuntately, I would have preferred Part 2 and 3 as the first one already has a decent release. The only thing about the MGM release is that it doesn't have anything with Tom Holland because I think he has a strained relationship with the studio or whoever was producing the extras back in 2008. I'm glad they got him for this, please let 2 and 3 be coming soon down the line.

Now that's a nice cover! And I for one am very excited about this release. I have yet to purchase this and have always loved the film.

Good job, SCREAM.

If they find the deleted scenes, this will be the definitive edition.

Lower MSRP than normal. I wouldn't expect a whole lot in terms of new extras but it's possible.

Skipping the deluxe set this time around. Don't care for the Good Guy art nor for the figure.

First deluxe set I jumped on. Nice to hear that the posters will be rolled in a tube this time. I'll probably put the extra slip-case on my MGM CP blu-ray. Really curious about what will be on the second disc- those deleted scenes look juicy.

Deleted scenes may be lost forever, but now that Tom Holland is involved he may be able to scrounge up a workprint that he has. There are alternative openings and endings apparently. Part 2 and 3 have numerous deleted scenes as well.

Awesome art, and 2 disc so this should be stacked. Can't wait to see the new transfer.

Wasn't the first cut of CP over two hours long? Would be amazing if they could dig that up.

I really hope Shout gets parts 2 and 3 later. The Universal set just didn't have enough difference for my to upgrade from my DVDs.

I would jump on the limited but i'm a bit short of cash at the moment. Oh well, I'm not a mega fan of the film anyway and will still pick up the regular edition.

There's very little left to be said and/or seen from part 1, however neither part 2 or 3 have ever had stacked editions so if/when they arrive those will be full of all sorts of goodness. Tv Cuts, Deleted Scenes, Alternate Takes, Commentaries, Trailers, even features on the merchandise and enduring legacy seem like easy things to throw on there.

It's a 2-disc set according to the product listing. I think the somewhat lower MSRP on the standard set is being offset to some extent by the $59.99 pricetag on the deluxe set with the extra paraphenalia.

The Good Guy slip is absolutely brilliant but I don't particularly want a doll as well. (And I have no interest in the primary poster, although the Good Guy one would make an interesting addition to my horror 'lair'.) It appears as if there's no toy-free option though.

Edit: Are there any current Scream Factory site codes/discounts?

Another SF beauty!
I might be a little creeped out by that doll sitting on my shelf!

Really glad I've passed on the Universal 6-pack so many times... I doubt I'll ever watch parts 5 or 6 again.

Here's another one featuring the voodoo priest performing some kind of ritual.

As awesome as it would be to have these scenes surface, I believe the footage is lost and the stills are all that remain.

I was cool with the Deluxe Editions being $10 extra for the extra slipcover, etc.

But adding in a doll and jacking up the price to $60 + shipping/tax is absurd. I for one don't need any more toys/clutter/tchotchkes/trinkets - I no longer collect junk. Just want the movie and the packaging, including deluxe slip, and there's no way I'm paying $25 for a doll I don't want. I'm not 5 years old.

Ditch the doll or have an interim Deluxe option for just the slips. $10 extra for a piece of cardboard was hard to take, but I get the appeal and that worked for them so no problem. But now trying to push toys and junk and jacking up the price for something a lot of people probably don't want, no way Jose. So if you really want the extra slip, you're basically being charged $35 for it, for a piece of cardboard. I'm done with the Deluxe editions from now on. Greed is getting the better of them.
