Did you buy it directly from Amazon.fr or from a marketplace seller? I only see marketplace sellers.

Since it's an Italian release, there are only marketplace sellers

Some Dynit titles are shipped and sold by Amazon.fr and Amazon.es. Dynit titles are often cheaper on Amazon.es than .it for some reason.

Considering Big West would never EVER give Harmony Gold HD masters, and even if they did HG would never use that footage to piece the show back together in HD quality. That set is going to look horrific.

EDIT: wait, jp audio. Is it a SDF Macross set that just uses Robotech branding? Like Yamato/Starblazers?

Going off the art I'd wager that it is. Despite the branding I might pick it up if it is. Will be cheaper than importing the JP set, as good as that set looks.
EDIT: Wait it's Kaze nevermind I'll get it from Japan

Makes one really wonder what footage Kaze will use. If the Japanese HD masters are out of the question, they could either go back to the Harmony Gold film elements or in the absolute worst case do an ugly upscale of the Animeigo restoration.

Yeah the compression isn't gonna be great. That's gonna be 72 episodes spread over 6 discs, assuming the set includes both Macross and Robotech.

Do it. It's a freaking phenomenal set. Longer you leave it, the more expensive it becomes....

I may actually have the sub tracks somewhere, I'll take a look. From memory though when you remux them there's a bit of manual work required as they didn't quite line up with the JP bd episodes (I think the source for the subs had a 1 or 2 second "going to commercial" intro/outro bit mid-episode.

The Walküre idol group announced at the "Rock in Japan Festival 2017" event on Sunday that the Macross Delta television anime series is getting an anime film project. The project is the latest work to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the Macross franchise. The staff will reveal more information about the film at a later date.

Other projects commemorating the 35th anniversary of Macross include a virtual reality project, a live music concert, and a planetarium project, as well amusement center, projection mapping display, toy, shop, and network projects.

The franchise is also receiving a new television anime series in 2018 to commemorate the anniversary.

The 26-episode Macross Delta television anime series ran from April to September 2016, after a preview of the first episode in 2015.

Macross Delta has also inspired several manga series and a novel. The in-story idol unit Walküre also performs as an idol unit in real life, and the group has held several live events. The group's first album won the Animation Album of the Year award for the Recording Industry Association of Japan's (RIAJ) Japan Gold Disc Awards for 2017.

Harmony Gold USA is suing Tatsunoko

Long story short, Tatsunoko was ordered to reimburse Harmony Gold's legal fees, which arose out of an arbitration dispute between the two. So far, Tatsunoko hasn't paid Harmony Gold back and Harmony Gold is asking a district court to force Tatsunoko to pay. I would write more, but I'm literally about to walk out the door for a trip. I'll try to go into more detail when I arrive at my destination.

As per Exhibit 1 (Redacted document - Arbitration Award) in 2:17-cv-06034 Harmony Gold, USA, Inc. v. Tatsunoko Production Co., Ltd.

Award 2a: HG's license to make derivative works expires 14MAR2021. All rights and sublicenses revert to the company that bought the company that bought Tatsunoko at that time.

2c: HG does not have all rights in perpetuity throughout the universe (the listed terminology).

2d: They can negotiate for a new license, of course.

Let it be known: This is not part of the other case, it is a matter of court record, and I am not an attorney. These are my understandings based on my knowledge. The citations are provided in case an attorney wishes to fact-check.

It explains the sudden rush, they have four years to milk the license for all its worth before terms change. Also, this was a million-dollar arbitration on their part.

I'd also like to suggest people read the Wikipedia article on Harmony Gold USA.

"HG does not have all rights in perpetuity throughout the universe (the listed terminology)."

They'll probably just go to another universe.

That will take a long time. They'll need a ship capable of supporting a large number of people and the folks who finally set foot in this Harmony Gold bizarro-universe will be completely different than those who originally left an Earth ravaged by the destruction of lawyers gone unchecked.
