I am waiting on the region coding info for this one too. Although I have a region free player, its not as good a player as my region A one.

How does one participate in the group buy? I'm interested myself...I can't even find a 3D steelbook of this to import to the US, only the non-steelbook version at Amazon.UK

Here is a link to the UK Great Wall 3D/2D steelbook group buy. This is an HMV exclusive steelboook release, due to come out on June 12, 2017. Sadly, HMV will not ship to the USA.

All you have to do to join the group buy is to submit a post saying you want a copy and list how many copies you want and your home country.

The group buy organizer (cudzndrips) will contact you for payment when the release date gets close. Once you pay for the item, he will get group buy copies from HMV, the he will pack the steelbook extremely well and ship it via airmail from England.

Cudzndrips (his real name is Paul) has been hosting UK group buys for a couple of years now. He is extremely reliable and trustworthy.

For the KimChiDVD blu-ray steelbook edition with 3D/2D discs the price comes to $46.69 shipped from South Korea to New York. Probably a couple of bucks less for the amray case edition.

The HMV exclusive 3D/2D UK group buy will also be close to $50 with shipping to the USA.

The Korean release will be released about a month before the UK edition.

Yes it would be around by now. Universal is usually quick to list and this is everywhere but the US. There are many options and it should be region free, although Kimchi is a guaranteed region A.

IF its region A then it is available for players in the US. All right you may have to import it. No big deal in the internet world.

If I had to guess, I'd say Universal's UK release will be region free, since a lot of their other UK blu-ray releases are.

Medium to strong 3D layers and great pop outs in The Great Wall 3D from my theatrical viewing. Really nice 3D conversion. I see it's 32.99+ plus shipping to import. That's about the average price for a rare title in 3D (not available in US).

I'm hesitant because of the expensive import price. From what I understand the 3D is gorgeous but does the movie itself justify the big investment?

Won't go by the imdb consensus because so often 3D becomes that missing element that makes a film. Read here that some really loved it but others might pass.

Can anybody sell me on this?

I did enjoy the Great Wall action movie and the mostly medium and some strong layered 3D and would like to see this again on blu ray 3D. $30 and under is reasonable for an imported blu ray 3D movie not available in the US.

The lizards in the film remind me a lot of the zombies in World War Z, how they
[Show spoiler]use each other to climb up the walls.
