It will be in actual 4K and likely have HDR. I mean, what else are we supposed to say at this point?

That we'd also wish it'd have seamless branching too for all various cuts. On both the UHD and BD.

There needs to be a UHD wishlist sub-forum.

Don't what you're talking about. I saw a press release and there wasn't any mention of an UHD, that's the whole story.

Not sure if this is true, since this thread is still here

You need to hit that report-button harder!

Thanks!

So can someone confirm the Definitive Edition is a 4K UHD Blu-ray? If its just a 1080p upconvert via a new scan, I'll wait and pray for a HDR/DOLBY VISION 3840x2160 scan & UHD Blu-ray release. I can see via the codec its 1080p. What a waste. Who wants s still putting out 1080p Blu-ray editions, as if its something special. A definitive edition wouod be a 4K scan.

I don't want to splurge on the current remaster as Fox could drop a 4K UHD out of the blue.

There is no 4K UHD Blu-ray of Heat at the moment.

Although I certainly understand waiting for a 4K Blu, the Heat remaster was available for $8 on release - not exactly the biggest "splurge"

You left out the original DVD in the snapper case. And the Blu-ray steelbook.

When the heck is Heat (1995) 4K Blu-ray coming out. Braveheart 4K, Matrix, etc. Heat in oarticular Ive been hearing rumors for a long time. UHD Alliance better start getting 4K scans for these and many otyer movies. The back catalogue for UHD Blu ray movies is atrocious. Every movie since at leasr 1990 should be being scanned for UHD. By the time 8K comes out there will be small catalogue of older movies in 4K. It’s like a drip, drip, drip of UHD titles but the ball has been dropped by tye UHD Alliance and atudios in teems of getting high quality mivies out there. They need to go beyond action flicks and put dramas out. I’d buy The English Patient on 4K- day one. UHD Alliance is missing out by not releasing dramas ( alot more so than comedy) on UHD Blu-ray. 4K dramas would create a more life like workd for the drama to take place in and would provide a more detailed palate on which to show actors subtle facial expressions on. No 3D, no dramas, thereby cutting tye amount if movies that’ll be released. Come on!

Just happened to watch this 2 nights ago on BD again and like everyone else, so want a UHD version. One of those movies I could watch over and over and never grow tired of it.
