The Zavvi art is indeed an eye-sore. I like the back though. If only the images were reversed. I still will probably opt for the steel though. I will always prefer a steel to a regular case. Just wish the art left more to be desired. The original art would have been best.

Also, is this region free? In the technical specs it says region 2, which is teehniclaly not even a region applying to Blu-Rays.

It's a UK site, so like Amazon UK, the region code is usually listed as B as a default. Region coding for this release shouldn't be a problem unless another distributior besides Sony is releasing it in other countries.

This movie is laughable...

Was I supposed to laugh? Because I did.

I hope it never gets released.

I hope they release the video portion on VHS and the audio portion on cassette tape and the only way to get the complete "experience" is by buying both separately and syncing the tapes.

I was so excited for this after all the positive reviews.

But it was pretty much a 180 from what I expected.

It's basically a watered-down version of at least 10+ different but otherwise solid films.

And any plot hole -- and wow are there a ton to the point where it's hard to consider thinking that the world of this film should be taken seriously in the very least -- the director and writer seem to want to answer with, "It's Detroit. It's an armpit. It's empty. It's not a city anymore. No one lives there. Boom!"

Not only is that ludicrous, but if I lived in Detroit, I'd be pretty upset with the blanket and untrue statement of the quality of the city -- which, once again, seems to be a blanket explanation for so many of the obvious plot holes.

I really wanted to like this.

But I'm now baffled how so many continue to think this is some great horror / thriller.

To each their own, and that's fine, but the heaps of praise remain interminably confusing to me at this point.

Easily in the top 3 of the year for me. Number 1 for me, along with Conjuring 2 and Lights Out. Still have to see Green Room, I imagine that will crack my top 5.

Sad to say, but since NA gets it first, I'll probably buy it as well as the steelbook in a couple months after. I love this movie too much to wait for the steel.

Mine were like this:
1) 10 Cloverfield Lane
2) Don't Breathe
3) The Witch

Green Room was really disturbing. I thought The Conjuring 2 was terrible and I have yet to see Lights Out...that one I'll be seeing soon.

That you aren't logical and your wittle feewings were hurt because I don't like some stupid movie that you like?

I would rather watch Jessica Alba swimming underwater than watch this one again. No contest.

Have you been to Detroit lately? I have a friend who lives out there & he basically says the same. It has abandoned neighborhoods, not just 1 or 2 houses but whole neighborhoods. Plus a bunch of abandoned factories, warehouses & such. It also has a high crime rate. Fortunately he's happy to be moving away from it next month. That said, movie was really good. The tone & atmosphere were very well done.

You thought The Conjuring 2 was terrible? I thought The Witch was boring TBH but Green Room was really good, it surprised me. 10 Cloverfield Lane was really good as well. Lights Out is another one I enjoyed a lot, have you seen the original short film? It a on YouTube.

Yes, Conjuring 2 was a loud obnoxious mess of a film...it doesn't hold a a candle to the first film. It was like a parody of itself. The Witch wasn't boring really, it depicted life back then flawlessly. I appreciated the deeper message as well, and the attention to detail on the costumes and set pieces were amazing. The director recreated the time period perfectly.

Yes, I've seen the original short...it's fabulous.

Once the automobile companies left the city went to ruin. Crime and unemployment spiked and the city I believe went bankrupt. It's pretty much a nasty dump.

Oh ok. If you liked the short you should also like the film. Lights Out is the new release I'm looking forward to most this month.

I haven't seen Lights Out yet, but I really enjoyed the short. I made the bad decision to watch it in bed. It just looked like some kind of Darkness Falls remake but with different characters. I won't mind picking it up as a blind buy.
