Miller doesn’t actually say he’s thinking of Furiosa becoming a tyrant, just that Joseph Campbell posited that that would be the natural evolution of the hero’s journey and Miller’s wondering if he can subvert it.

"I think she's too smart to fall into that trap. She's already seen it with the Immortan Joe," said Miller. "I believe he went through the same process. He was probably a heroic character in his own time."

Him speaking of Immortem Joe. Would be I interesting to see him in a prequel as a hero. Believe I would rather see that than a Furiosa sequel from Fury Road.

Honestly, I am this doesn't happen. Whether it be a prequel or a sequel with Furiosa. I love her in Fury Road and there shouldn't be more of her.
The series works best when it's isolated stories that Max walks into. Next film could be a film with new world representation. Bring back Hardy as Max and feature an varied cast in a new story that tackles diff issues. Done.

Or Miller could get to work on that Swinton-Elba film that sounds rad.

Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Hemsworth, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will star in Furiosa, a standalone action adventure feature that acts as an origin story for the powerful character first embodied by Charlize Theron in Miller’s Oscar-winning 2015 movie, the studio announced Tuesday.

They need to remove Mad Max from the title and just call it 'Furiosa' or 'Young Furiosa'. I doubt Hemsworth is playing a younger Max. And while us informed folk might know that "Mad Max" is included in the title just to indicate it's part of the franchise, you KNOW audiences are going to show up and be pissed when they see a movie with no Mad Max that has "Mad Max" in the title.

EDIT: I saw somewhere else (not this article) that it was called "Mad Max: Furiosa"

If it's simply called 'Furiosa' that would be much smarter.

Considering Fury Road took 17 years from announcement to screen, two of them on the shelf, it should be hitting theaters around 2037 at the earliest and actually star people we haven't even heard of yet.
