Hopefully the price drops. Marvel steelbooks used to be $19.99, then they started to release at $27.99, but sometimes as low as $24.99 before release. The DC steelbooks, however, I don't think I ever paid lower than $29.99 on or before release day. I'm considering getting out the the steelbook collecting business because of rising costs, but until I make my decision, I'll keep buying them just to keep the set going. I figured the resell value shouldn't be too bad if I decide to just get rid of them.

However, if the only difference is the 3D disc and the color of the j-card, I'll just get one steelbook.
From what I see, it's only the fact that one has the 3D blu-ray included, and the other doesn't. No Age of Ultron multiple steelbook options for this one.

And as a reminder, there will be packaging exclusives, but there's two Blu-Ray releases when it comes to discs: 2D and 3D...

Also, 2D Blu-Ray will not have a slip. This is exclusive to the 3D version.

And unless Disney/Marvel start releasing 4K discs, there won't be a 4K release.

If you use Amazon, preorder as soon as it becomes available in case they pull that "exclusively for Prime members" crap. If you preorder with Amazon, it's basically guaranteed you'll only pay $19.99 for the 3D version as it dips to that price at some point.

I wonder if it's just for the SteelBooks or if they're going to do this for the regular releases as well.

The return of Slipcovers for 2D releases? Wonder what the cover for the 3D set is like.

Well the covers are a'comin in. Now I just need to know what the 3D version looks like, the cover for the 2D is nice, so hopefully it's a good one. And if it is, that Amazon actually put it up for pre-order.

Are you planning on being 3D-capable again? If so, I'd get 3D otherwise it'd get expensive later if you wanted to pick it up.

Yeah that's probably what I'll do, better to have it in case I ever use it in the future than re-buy it at a higher price down the road. Plus consistency and all that haha

There's a movie that comes out in 2 weeks that Amazon still doesn't have up for pre-order.

They're slacking hard.

No preorders of Disney-released titles (including Queen of Katwe, Pinocchio and Moana) are live on Amazon. We don't know exactly why, but it did happen in 2014 when they and Disney apparently had some problems about pricing, so Amazon stuck it to Disney by refusing to do preorders.

All I know is, I like getting my titles day of release, so I might start going to Target or Best Buy for my Disney titles.
