Thanks again. That's going to be next. Last night I watched the R&H episode The House on Hauted Hill and The Avengers episode you pointed today, The Curious Case of the Countless Clues which also has the same actors Peter Jones, wearing a deer stalker/Sherlock Holmes detective hat and coat in both productions, and George A. Cooper. Also Edgwarebury Hotel/The Manor Elstree appears in both.

Last weekend I did happen to watch Juggernaut (1974), German BD, which has Kenneth Cope.

I'd welcome a blu reissue as I'm fairly sure one (or both) series of my DVDs rotted away years ago...

I don't think I've ever seen the original.
I do like Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer, but I did not like their new version of Randall and Hopkirk. If you had seen the original you would know why Vic should have been Jeff Randall and Bob - Marty Hopkirk, just for a start.

I would highly recomend, if you can, getting hold of the original 1969 version (26 episodes) on BD.

I have read about disc rot, but it is something I have not enountered yet, touch wood, in my collection spanning over 20 years. I would like to ask if you have any opinion on the matter why it is happening or could cause it to happen? What does the the rotted disc you have look like?

I'm also a huge Vic+bob fan but felt the original ITC classic was beyond them ( still watched it though when it was broadcast originally) loved David Arnold's theme !

Network's bare bones, HD restored, 2017 box set of 6 BD discs is available new for £30.71p.

Below, Blu-ray.com's page (via link) for Network's Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) Complete Set, if you order from this page then this site gets something back from Amazon, all helping to support this site.

Had the dvd set of the V&B remake series for years, and did finally watch the first series after finishing the original show a few months ago. Nowhere near as good as the original, but it was watchable, though felt very 90s, to the point where in some respects it actually felt more dated than the older one. Will probably give the second series a watch at some point.
